Detailed Analysis of NIFT GAT 2024

The NIFT GAT 2024 had a total of 100 and 120 questions for B.Des and M.Des courses respectively that were prepared to test the Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability and General Knowledge with the Current Affairs. B.F.Tech has a total of 150 questions.

Among all the questions in the paper, B.Des applicants found the Current Affairs section to be one of the most uncertain parts since the questions came from different segments and varied areas of general awareness. The Maths section was reported to be difficult as compared to English. The Quantitative Ability section consisted of topics such as speed and time, time, speed and distance, linear equations, number systems, numerical ability and many more.

According to the research conducted with feedback from students, all the questions that came from GK & Current Affairs segments were based on Brand and brand ambassadors, Nobel Peace Prize, fashion technology, brand innovation, sports, awards, Joe Biden, Coronavirus vaccine etc.

Further, those aspirants who appeared for the B.F.Tech exam thought that questions based on the Analytical & Logical Ability were the most puzzling and difficult ones. Overall, the exam was of moderate to difficult level.

Detailed Analysis of NIFT CAT 2024

The CAT exam of NIFT 2024 consists of only 3 questions of 100 marks. The exam duration was only 180 minutes and aspirants were judged on their analytical thinking, innovative approach, creative skills and ability to draw, with speed and accuracy. According to the reports, aspirants got sufficient time to solve the NIFT CAT exam and it didn't require a lot of complicated drawing techniques.

Eligibility For B. Des/B. F. Tech Courses

The Candidates must be 23 years of age as of 1st October 2024. The upper age limit for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/Person With Disability (PWD) has been mentioned as 28 years of age.

The aspirants must have completed their intermediate/ class 12 examination from a recognised State/Central Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

NIFT Syllabus 2024: CAT for B.Des and M.Des

The Creative Ability Test or CAT is a test that is specially designed to judge and assess the intuitive ability, the observation power of the candidate in terms of concept development and design ability.
