The city of Pune is even called the cultural capital of Maharashtra. “Savai-Gandharva” is the main festival of the region, while Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated vibrantly, with crowds flocking and dancing on roads, with great energy and enthusiasm every year, which is a 10-day festival to seek blessings for Lord Ganesha. "Nauvari" the traditional dressing of women, with a jewellery piece in their nose. They wear traditional outfits at all major festivals of the state, and even on all auspicious days like weddings, birthdays, childbirth, etc. Men wear shirts and kurtas with ‘dhoti’ and caps called ‘pheta’ or ‘pagadi’. Kolhapur is one of the prime cities famous for its leather slippers called Kolhapuri Chappals, which resonate with the traditional footwear of the town.

Maharashtrian cuisine cultures bring the entire state together or even the nation together.
