UPSC or Union Public Service Commission is a central level body responsible for conducting various recruitment exams for civil servants in India. Some of the major exams conducted by UPSC are Civil Services, Engineering Services, CDS, and NDA. This year, UPSC had released the exam schedule for different recruitment and competitive exams and as per the latest updates, The IAS exam notification release is on hold due to the pending SC verdict on extra attempts.

Eligibility Criteria 2021
Eligibility in UPSC Recruitment 2021 varies with the exams. The basic academic qualification of most of the exams is Graduation from any recognized university. However, there are few exams that demand graduation in a particular field/stream as part of the eligibility.

Syllabus
The syllabus of each exam under UPSC is announced along with the notification. However, the UPSC syllabus for all exams is similar in many ways. The General Science section/paper is asked in most of the exams.

Q. I filled the UPSC form but did not go for the exam, will my attempt count?
A. No, the UPSC attempt is counted only if the candidate takes the exam. Filling up the form does not count as an attempt.
Q. Does UPSC have reservations?
A. UPSC provides reservation relaxations to SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates.
Q. What happens if a candidate fails the interview?
A. If a candidate who has passed the Mains exam fails in the interview, he/she gets recommendations from UPSC to various government agencies and ministries. And if they accept the recommendations, he/she may get a job in that agency or ministry.
Q. How many IAS are recruited every year?
A. 180 IAS are recruited every year.
