Approximately one-fifth of the area of the whole state is covered with forests, with the main region in the Vindhya Range, the Kaimur Hills, the Satpura and Maikal ranges, and the Baghelkhand Plateau. The capital of the state is Bhopal and the state was formed in 1956. The adjoining state of Chattisgarh was a part of M.P before drifting in the year 2000.

The flora and fauna of the forests have mammals, like tigers, panthers, bears, gaurs (wild cattle), and various species of deer like chital (spotted deer), sambar, blackbucks, and the rare barasingha (swamp deer).

National parks and Wildlife sanctuaries of the region are close to 25 in counting. Some of the well known amongst them are:

To sustain the heart and soul of nature lovers, the state has national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, tiger reserves and fossil parks as well. The oldest fossils are about 40-150 million years old, here one can find the petrified trunks of ancient trees and rocks. Plant, leaf, shell and fruit seed fossils, Palm fossil is the attraction of the park. Fossils of the park have been overlooked and damaged by tourists and agriculturists, and the state is bad at preserving the ancient heritage and the evolutionary history of our lives. Madhya Pradesh is unique in terms of forest and natural covers, and is not less than a paradise!

The religious composition of the state is Hindus 90.89%, Muslim 6.57%. Christian 0.29%. Sikh 0.21%, Buddhist 0.30%, Jain 0.78%, others 0.96%

The staple food of the state is Roti, out of wheat flour. Famous dishes like poha, jalebi, bhutte ki khees, and dal bafla are now the savouries of the country at large. The other non-vegetarian cuisines are gosht korma, kebabs, and Rogan josh.

Some important rivers in the state are Narmada, Chambal, Tapi, Parbati, Betwa, Ken, Sone, Shipra, Sindh, Dhasan, Mahi and others. Most of the population is situated near the banks and streams alongside the river. This increases the irrigation and drinking water availability.

The state is rich in ancient artworks which are currently found in the caves for example the Bagh caves have paintings on Buddhist topics of the 5th century, Udayagiri caves containing Brahmanical and Jaina monasteries from the 4th to 7th century, exhibiting styles and design patterns of rock-cut.

A large part of the Population is of Scheduled Tribes, the indigenous people who fall outside the orthodoxy social order. Some communities of tribes are Bhil, Baiga, Gond, Korku, Kol, Kamar, and Maria. The official language and most widely spoken language is Hindi, though there are various dialects of bifurcation according to regions.

Khajuraho temples are the world-famous sites in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The exquisite beauty and inscriptions of the temple are mindblowing. There are various events hosted at these important places like the Khajuraho Dance Festival started in 1975 to celebrate the local art forms and folk dances and music. Now, this is one of the best cultural events in the country and continues for 1 week.

2. Minerals and energy resources

The state has large reserves and deposits of coal, iron ore, manganese ore, bauxite, limestone, dolomite, copper, fireclay, and kaolin. The state is rich in treasure but is yet to be extracted and further mined.

With the water sources comes the hydroelectric energy generation potential, and thus there are various projects, some in the pipeline, some already established. Apart from the hydroelectric power, solar and thermal plants are also very necessary and can be planted in the state, since we have direct sources, like the sunlight in straight 3 months of summer.

3. Manufacturing

There are only some large and medium scale manufacturing industries, as the state is still developing. These industries are Indore, Gwalior, Bhopal, and Jabalpur. Some government established industries to support the infrastructure of the state are paper milling, cement production, heavy electrical items, microelectronics, and optical fibres.

4. Transportation

The infrastructural requirements of the state are vast and are yet under consideration. The conditions of roads, railways are still under construction. Though the requirements of the same are very high, because currently the density, quality of roads is low, especially in some areas in remote lands. The connectivity between rural and urban areas is underdeveloped and needs upheaval at the latest.

Though there is the construction of bridges over Narmada and other rivers. But still, the national highway connectivity is really in a poor state and needs to be reconciled to make and grow naturally. The only important railway stations are in the cities of Bhopal, Ratlam, Khandwa, and Katni.

5. Tribal art performing creativity

Since most of the area is under the influence of tribes, and their activities like shifting cultivation and other practices. To keep the distinct identity and the customs and traditions alive for these parts of the society, some measures should be incorporated in the enhancement and development of mediums to reach, and grow.

6. Antique collections and tourism

There are various natural factors, and beautiful destinations to visit in the state for tourism purposes. With the scriptures, wildlife sanctuary, national parks; it becomes important to preserve the ancient richness of the country.

Most of the area is either forest or agricultural land and that too with tribal communities of India. It gives huge growth prospects in the field of agriculture and their further subsidiaries. The processing unit based plants need a further extension with better tools and machinery. This can be done only after a thorough analysis and implementation of new and modern ways of assistance.

The state is the leading producer of many items. Their further processing can thus be profitable and a source of growth and GDP contributor in the economy of Madhya Pradesh.

Auto & Auto Components Manufacturing

Madhya Pradesh has a cluster of Automobiles and auto components(auto cluster), in the city of Pithampur, near Indore. There are various plants and factory outlets in the area. Though the manufacturing and infrastructural base of the state is not much developed, the sector has importance and significance in the economy and thus the government is giving special emphasis through various schemes, plans and other yojanas in the sector.

In future, there will be great demands in terms of employment, technology, planning and execution. So the study and experience in the field are important and growth bound.

Textiles Industries

Indore, Jabalpur, Burhanpur and Chhindwara are the hubs of the textile industry in the state. There are various mills to meet the requirements of not just the country, but also for exports. According to the latest statistics, the state exported a good margin from the surplus and earned a profit of dollars. The quality and cost of the industrial production of the state is fit for usage and thus attracts lots of investment too.

Tourism- A cultural diverse state

The state has many inscribed and engraved architectural style ancient buildings, stones, caves, temples, city doors. Especially because the state was previously a princely state with a dynasty and monarchy system. Hence there are various king styled traditions and cultures, which gives the essence of royalty. Thus a great amount of tourists is attracted to the sites. With that, the state also has the benefits of natural vegetation, wildlife experiences and historical data, with fossil gardens. Hence the state is in all a package.

Diamond manufacturing and mining are done in just one state of India. The state of Madhya Pradesh holds special privileges in terms of land and has high-quality resources beneath the ground.
