Madhya Pradesh, the central state of India is situated in the heart of the country. The state has no coastline as a boundary and no international frontier in landmasses. The location of the state ranges between the Indo-Gangetic Plain in the north and the Deccan plateau in the south. The topography has hills, rivers, plateau, plains, grasslands and all sorts of attributes of geography. Some of the important mountains are the Vindhya Range, with the Kaimur Hills; the Satpura, Mahadeo, and Maikala ranges. The highest peak of the state is The Dhupgarh.

The climate in Madhya Pradesh is summer from March to May, winter from November through February, and the rainy months in the rest of the year probably June to September. The summer is hot, dry, and windy; Winters are usually pleasant and dry, the Monsoon season usually is quite affluent and wet.

Local Culture

Most of the traditions, festivals and rituals are based on tribal activities which constitute approximately one-third of the area. The traditional style of dressing for men is Angarkha, Dhoti, Pagri, and Gamchha. Whereas women wear Sari and Ghagra Choli.

1. Agriculture

Chambal River valley and the Malwa and Rewa plateaus are the most cultivable lands of the state. Agriculture is the main source of income in the area since there are tribes which are generally the people close to mother earth more than the other half of the population.
