The folks of Sikkim comprises 3 ethnic teams, that is, Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali. Communities of various hues intermix freely in Sikkim to represent an even mix while creating a new team and group of community. The state is divided into 4 parts which have a separate capital in each area. One-fifth of the population of Sikkim is tribal people. Bhutias wear Yencho (earring), Khao (necklace), Phiru (pearl ornaments), Diu (gold bangles), Khalli (silver-coated anklets) and Joko (ring).

Nepalese Ornaments include Sir-Bandi or tiara, Kantha, Naugeri, Charanihari, Tilhari, Bulaki, Dungri, Gadwari, a silver Chura, Kalli, and silver anklet etc.

Gundruk, Sinki is some traditional dishes of Sikkim. Also, Sikkim and Momos are complementary to one another, serving as a lifeline. Thukpa is a kind of noodle soup of Tibetan origin that has found its way to being one of the most loved foods in Sikkim.

The Maruni dance is the oldest dance form of Sikkim performed by the Nepalis. This dance is performed within the Tihar festival and on auspicious occasions like marriages and births, and are celebrated to win over evil practices and bad omens. Chutkey Naach, Denzong Ganesha are other forms performed in respect of their respective deities. There are various musical instruments in the area which help in the generation of rhythms and beats like Bamboo harp etc.
