The local Music includes Classical Music, Pann which was mistakenly changed as Carnatic music has a long history. Pannisai is a music form that is sung at festivals, and is considered auspicious enough. The musical styles, notes and tracks of the film industry of Tamil Nadu is eclectic in terms and shows the labour, skillset and methods of innovation and creativity. Ilaiyaraaja and A.R.Rahman are two music maestros from the region having the greatest identities in the Indian Cinema. They have globally represented Indian Music style in Oscars too. The leading daily newspaper is Dina Thanthi, having old dates of origin.
The Flora and Fauna of the state include 15% forest, two very important and prominent biosphere reserves that are the Nilgiris and the Gulf of Mannar. the Angiosperm diversity count for which the state ranks at the top in the Country. Major forest products from the region are Sandalwood, Bamboo, Babul Dry, Teakwood, and many others. The state enjoys a market for them, for locals and exports too. Thoothukudi produces the major chemicals in the state. It produces 70 per cent of the total salt production in the state and 30 per cent in the country.
Pongal is one of the major festivals celebrated in Tamil Nadu. Other important events are the Varalakshmi pooja, Karthigai deepam chariot festival, Aadi Perukku, Mahamaham etc. Alanganallur, the town is internationally known for its famous sport of Jallikattu - Bullfight.

The dressing style for men is Dhoti or Lungi with a shirt and Angavastra. On the other hand, women wear a sari and Younger females, the unmarried ones wear half-saree.
Traditional Food: South Indian food such as idli, Sambar, Dosa, Uttapam, Vada, and much more famous food. Rasam is the most common main course food of Tamil Nadu. In the desert, Payasam is a famous dish.
