The recruitment and training platform, Internshala has launched The Great Chai Internship. The initiative offers once in a lifetime internship opportunities with popular chai brands including Chaayos, Vahdam Teas, and Tea Trunk for the chai loving students as well as their family members. Each intern selected for the opportunities will be awarded a stipend of ?5,000. The interested candidates could apply to the internships by 21st February 2021.
The internship under this initiative will be 2-days-long and will include multiple sessions for the hired interns. The selected interns will get a chai time session with the founders of popular chai brands including the founder of Vahdam Teas, founder of Tea Trunk, Ms Snigdha Manchanda, and one of Chaayos’ founders. During these online sessions, the interns will learn about the brands’ vision and their various initiatives, founder’s experiences in building the chai business, tea and wellness, the culture of chai in India, and the end-to-end process of procuring and storing the tea to creating the perfect blend and bringing it to the customers.
The interns will get to experience a tea tasting and tea making session with India's first certified tea sommelier, and get a fully sponsored trip to the tea gardens of Darjeeling. The interns will also get an opportunity to learn the art of tea tasting with their chai buddy who can be anyone ranging from a parent, a sibling, and a grandparent, to a friend.
On the launch of The Great Indian Chai Internship, Shekhar Halder, Business Head at Internshala, said, “Since 2010, Internshala has been striving to provide meaningful internships to the students of India. Taking our mission ahead, we also now bring out iconic internships for the students looking for exciting and out-of-the-box opportunities. The Great Indian Chai Internship is one such initiative which brings 2-days-long internship experiences with popular chai brands of India.”
He further added, “Chai for Indian students is not just a beverage, it’s a sentiment. During COVID-19, with the colleges closed, the family chai-time was the highlight of every student’s day. In light of this, these internships will provide an opportunity to the students having a passion for chai, along with their chai partner, to get the chai experience with the chai entrepreneurs”.
