2nd February 2021: Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi appreciated the efforts of teachers in one of Bharti Foundation’s partner government schools under Satya Bharti Quality Support Program in UMS Dumarthar in Dumka district of Jharkhand during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on 31st January 2021, for the innovative teaching model during the pandemic.
The Head teacher along with the community members decided to paint the walls of their village with vowels and consonants both in English and Hindi, even converted some walls into blackboards for students to keep their education going during the unprecedented times.
The Satya Bharti Quality Support Program was initiated in 2013. The objective of this program is to support government schools to become happy, holistic institutions of learning. Foundation is working with more than 802 schools in collaboration with 14 state governments and union territories.

The impact of quality education has been scaled-up by transferring the learning and good practices of this program to 2,35,440 students studying in 802 partner government schools across 14 states and union territories, through the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program, since 2013. Satya Bharti Abhiyan, the sanitation initiative started in 2014, has benefitted 1,86,461 beneficiaries by improving sanitation conditions in the districts of Punjab, providing access to toilets and by fostering behavioral change in communities.
