The Rajasthan State Budget has been very promising this year and had a strong focus and dedication to healthy Rajasthan with a key focus on Nirogi Rajasthan. In this budget the Hon’ble Chief Minister has tried to create a balance between Public Health aspect and Curative aspect. The announcement of creating a fund of Rs. 100 crore for Nirogi Rajasthan is a laudable step.. We are extremely happy with the announcements made by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot who has not left any stone unturned to strengthen health system in the state. We appreciate the initiative of the State Government’s investment of Rs. 3500 crore towards on Universal Health Coverage Scheme. The budget speech is balanced and has adequate focus on Public Health and curative care.
Hon’ble Chief Minister has announced setting up of school of Public Health at division levels, enactment of Right to Health act and creation of cadre for Hospital administrators. These intuitive will go a long way in improving health care in the state.
As we know the state has been very keen on curbing the number of COVID-19 cases, we applaud the State Government for its wonderful initiatives which it has taken where IIHMR University has also been on the Advisory Board to implement a various plan of actions and models for the State Government of Rajasthan.
We also appreciate that the State Government will be opening Nursing Colleges in 25 districts. IIHMR University has always contributed to building capacities for the Nursing Staff, one of the recent capacity building programmes is for 23 Nursing Staff to skill them and build capacities through Management Training for Administrative Nursing Cadre for the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
. The core aspect of Digital education is a great idea for COVID-19 in government schools will help students to enhance knowledge. This is also a great initiative sounding the need for digital education and supporting the recent National Education Policy announced by the Government.
The State has also renounced our sentiments with the initiative of launching Public Health Schools colleges at divisional levels. IIHMR University has been in the forefront in the area of public Health since 1984 and recently announced a school of public Health- SD Gupta School of Public Health (SDG-SPH).
The State budget announced overall shall be fruitful for the coming year. There is always a desire to expect more from the budget. . More announcement for strengthening public health were expected like announcement for converting more sub-centres to Health and wellness centres, boosting capacities of surveillance and Epidemiology.
University has been a public health hub and shall continue to contribute towards the betterment of the healthcare sector and skilling the healthcare workforce.
