Introduction:

Again in this basic math worksheet, we are given some questions for doing basic subtraction. These worksheets are only meant for young students of class 3. You can find below some easy tips that you will read in this article that will help you to solve this basic math worksheet and all its questions more easily.

To make things more clear for the student who is reading the given worksheet to understand, both these math worksheets consist of two main sheets- the first sheet which contains all the list of questions and the second sheet- which contains the answer key or list of solutions.

In these basic math worksheets, the students' main objective is to find the difference between one double digit number of larger size and another double digit number of smaller quantity that will be subtracted from it.

The given basic math worksheets will help the young students who are children in general to solve math problems related to subtraction, ‘finding the difference’ and is meant for the purpose of teaching those students who are probably only very new to math concepts and young in age as well.

The young students who are very young and still new even to basic math concepts like basic subtraction, will slowly learn to familiarize themselves with these very basic ground-roots levels of math- ie finding the difference of two given numbers.

At first even the very thought of doing the difference of two given numbers, and before that understanding what it is to subtract a 3 digit number from another 3 digit number, and even performing the basic minus process using the fingers for counting in the case of subtraction of a smaller three digit number from a larger three digit number and finding their difference, is something quite 'difficult' as a concept and is still something 'new' for young student of that given age and new to complicated mathematical calculations.

Completion of the worksheets given below will also enable the students to memorize the basic math procedures they are learning, since the repetitive practice makes this possible.

Instructions to solve the worksheet

We can see here for ourselves that on the first basic math worksheet, there are few subtraction sums given. For eg. The first question in this worksheet is basically only about subtracting one number from the other and finding their difference. We should always subtract the smaller number from the bigger number.

________

Explanation of eg. 1.

In sheet 1 on the first line, in column 1, the student is expected to do basic subtraction in this case. Conversely this process is also called ‘subtracting two numbers’, or ‘finding the difference between the two given numbers’ which is in this case 223 and 121. Both the numbers in this case are three-digit numbers, the only difference that makes the process of ‘subtraction’, or minusing the smaller number i.e. 121 from the bigger number 223. (We can achieve the solution easily by counting backwards on the fingers, and by doing a basic carry over. We can also easily perform this calculation by using the ‘-’ function on a basic calculator. Eventually, one may also refer to the answer sheet to check if their calculations have been done correctly)

In this sum, the student has to subtract the first double digit number 223 by the second double digit number 121 -the resulting answer is 102 ( you can re-check it on the answer sheet.)

It's obvious that like it was mentioned above in the introduction, the student will learn to familiarize themselves with the basic concept of subtraction, if they concentrate and do all the exercises in the given worksheet. The more practice one gets, the better.

Even though the second worksheet that is provided looks very similar to the first worksheet, upon closer observation, the young student himself, without help from anyone, will be able to find out that both pages are indeed not the same. But there is again, a purpose for this.

The child will also notice that the second sheet is an 'answer key' in which all the solutions to the questionnaire in the first sheet are given. Referring to the answer key, (second sheet) helps the child to check for himself the result of his hard work and efforts at calculation have helped him to arrive at a correct conclusion. He does this for nearly every worksheet provided to him, on the diverse variety of maths concepts.

Conclusion

Again, In this worksheet too, the student is asked to answer the questions given in the questionnaire and then compare the solution given in the answer key. Upon successfully completing all of the questions in the first sheet, the children will not only get a practice of the basic concept of subtraction, but will also understand the proper use of answer key.The young students will then understand how to use an answer key not only to check answers but also to memorize key math concepts related to subtraction, finding the difference, and subtracting one number from the other, that are usually considered of the class math curriculum.

To conclude, this exercise will teach the young students how to do simple math concepts of subtraction in an easy to perform fashion. Also note the use of colorful text: This is a very interesting teaching idea for a young student. Remember that this is a great way to keep the student engaged in learning.
