Introduction:

Again in this basic maths worksheet, we are given some questions for doing basic subtraction. These worksheets are only meant for students of class 3. You can find some easy tips that you will read in this article that will help you to solve this basic maths worksheet more easily.

To make things more clear, both these maths worksheets consist of two main sheets- the first sheet which contains all the list of questions and the second sheet- which contains the answer key or list of solutions.

In these basic maths worksheets, the young students' main objective is to find the difference between one double digit number and a single digit number. Conversely this process is also called subtracting two numbers, or finding the difference between two numbers.

The given basic maths worksheets will help the young students who are children in general to solve maths problems related to subtraction, ‘finding the difference’ and is meant for the purpose of teaching those students who are probably only very new to maths concepts and young in age as well.

The young students who are very young and still new even to basic maths concepts like basic subtraction, will slowly learn to familiarise themselves with these very basic ground-roots levels of maths- ie finding the difference of two given numbers.

At first even the very thought of doing the difference of two given numbers, and before that understanding what it is to subtract a 1 digit number from a 2 digit number, and even performing the basic minus process using the fingers for counting in the case of subtraction of a single digit from a double digit number and finding their difference, is something quite 'difficult' as a concept and is still something 'new' for young student of that given age,

Completion of the worksheets given below will also enable the students to memorise the basic maths procedures they are learning, since the repetitive practice makes this possible.

Instructions to solve the worksheet

We can see here for ourselves that on the first basic maths worksheet, there are few subtraction sums given. For eg. The first question in this worksheet is basically only about subtracting one number from the other and finding their difference.

10 - 7 = _____

Explanation of eg. 1.

In sheet 1 on the first line, in column 1, the student is asked to do basic subtraction

In this sum, the student has to subtract the first double digit number 10 by the second single digit number 7 :the resulting answer is 3 ( you can check it on the answer sheet)

It's obvious that like it was mentioned above in the introduction, the student will learn to familiarise themselves with the basic concept of subtraction, if they concentrate and do all the exercises in the given worksheet.

Even though the second worksheet that is provided looks very similar to the first worksheet , upon closer observation, the young student himself, without help from anyone, will be able to find out that both pages are indeed not the same.

The child will also notice that the second sheet is an 'answer key' in which all the solutions to the questionnaire in the first sheet are given.

Conclusion

Again, In this worksheet too, the student is asked to answer the questions given in the questionnaire and then compare the solution given in the answer key. Upon successfully completing all of the questions in the first sheet, the children will not only get a practice of the basic concept of subtraction, but will also understand the proper use of answer key.The young students will then understand how to use an answer key not only to check answers but also to memorise key maths concepts related to subtraction, finding the difference, and subtracting one number from the other, that are usually considered of the class maths curriculum.

To conclude, this exercise will teach the young students how to do simple maths concepts of subtraction in an easy to perform fashion. Also note the use of colourful text: This is a very interesting teaching idea for a young student. Remember that this is a great way to keep the student engaged in learning.
