Introduction:

The basic worksheets that are given here are both maths worksheets. They are created to teach students of class 3 some maths concepts. The questions given on the first sheet are very basic mathematic calculations that the children will definitely be able to master with some practice.

Even before attempting to answer this worksheet, we can understand that the main function of these worksheets seems to be 'learning' basic concepts of multiplication!

After answering all the questions given in the first sheet, the young students who are children will begin to understand the basic concept of multiplication. What's more, is that after attempting all these exercises they will get the practice of 'multiplying a double digit number and a single digit number' using carry over.

After reading through the first sheet, one can find that there are 20 sums given here.

All of these questions are simple enough multiplication calculations of just two single digits numbers. The children will start to learn the multiplication concept easily after attempting all the questions. The problems given in the first sheet are quite simplistic and are obviously beginner-level multiplication sums.

Doing this exercise will help all young students who are attempting it. It will also enable them to go at a steady but slow pace while learning something new i e. concept of multiplication. Upon doing all these exercises, and similar worksheets they will finally start to understand the concept of basic multiplication in mathematics. These basic maths worksheets are designed with the basic idea of teaching students how to multiply two single digit numbers.

Instructions to solve the worksheet

On the first worksheet of, the children are asked to multiply two single-digit numbers and to write down the 'product' in the blank space provided. For this they require a basic knowledge of their multiplication times table There are 20 such questions. The children are then required to fill in the blanks with the appropriate answer.

For eg. On the first line, first column, the very first question the students are asked to solve is the following problem.

 8  4

x  3
_________

_________

In the following example, the numbers 84 and 3, are a double digit and a single digit number respectively, and the kids are required to fill the blank, i.e. with the 'product' which is usually obtained by referring to a multiplication timetable.

The second sheet that is provided looks similar to sheet one, but if one observes closely, one will find that both pages are not the same. The second sheet is the answer key and is purposely designed in the same way. It also contains all the answers to the questions provided in the first sheet.

Conclusion

So the main challenge here, for the young students who are children, is to write down the answers in the space provided. The questions in the first sheet are relatively simple, and it might be a bit challenging for those students who generally have problems with doing their multiplication.

In simpler words, the children will immediately observe that the second sheet is almost the same as the first sheet. Soon enough they will realise that they are looking at an answer key and will learn to use it properly.

The children will start to understand basic concepts of multiplication that include finding the product of two single-digit numbers by using the multiplication timetable.

Memorising the answers that are provided in sheet 2 will be easier because of the above (see pt.1). Both sheets can be compared side by side, the student will learn to properly reference the answer sheet, not only for finding the right answer but also for understanding the basic concepts of multiplication and finding the product.

It is by now very clear that both sheets are intended for teaching simple maths concepts in an easy to learn fashion. It includes the numbers in a colourful font. This will attract the attention of the young students and keep them engaged in their learning process.
