Subtraction Worksheet For Class 2
Introduction:
Here we are given maths worksheets for doing basic subtraction. These worksheets are only meant for students of class 2. You will find some easy tips that you can read in this article that will ultimately help you to use this worksheet more easily
Just like most of the two-page maths worksheets that have been provided in the past, these worksheets consist of two main things : 1) questionnaire and 2) an answer sheet.
In these worksheets, the student's objective is to find the difference between two double digit numbers between 1-20.
The students who are very young and still new even to basic math concepts like basic subtraction, will slowly learn to familiarize themselves with these very basic ground-roots levels of math.
At first even the thought of finding the difference of two given numbers, and even performing the basic subtraction is something 'difficult' and is still something 'new' to them.Completion of the worksheets given below will also enable the students to memorize the basic math procedures they are learning, since the repetitive practice makes this possible.
Instructions to solve the worksheet
We can see here for ourselves that on the first worksheet, there are few additional sums given. For eg. The first question in this worksheet is basically only about subtracting two numbers and writing the difference in the blank provided.
20 - 10 = ___
Explanation of eg. 1
In sheet 1 on the first line, in column 1, the student is asked to do basic subtraction. The number 20 is given, the minus sign later, then there is the number 10 and an empty space for filling the answer, after which the ‘difference’ of the subtraction is given.
Unlike the traditional subtraction sums where the smaller number would be subtracted from the larger number, the difference is to be found. In this case the young student is asked to find the value of the missing number and fill in the missing blank. There are 20 such varied sums in which the young students who are still children are asked to find the difference between a range of numbers in between 1 and 20.
It's obvious that like it was mentioned above in the introduction, the student will learn to familiarize themselves with the basic concept of subtraction if they concentrate and do all the exercises in the worksheet.
Even though the second worksheet that is provided looks very similar to the first sheet, upon closer observation, the child himself, without help from anyone, will be able to find out that both pages are indeed not the same. He will also easily be able to find the ‘missing’ number, as it is provided in the answer sheet.
The child will also notice that the second sheet is an 'answer key' in which all the solutions to the questionnaire in the first sheet are given.
Conclusion
Again, In this worksheet too, the student is asked to answer the questions given in the questionnaire and then compare the solution given in the answer key.
The children will understand the proper use of the answer key.
The students will understand how to use an answer key not only to check answers but also to memorize key math concepts that are part of the class math curriculum.
Finally, this exercise will teach the young students how to do simple math concepts of subtraction in an easy to perform fashion.
Also note that colorful text is being used. This is very interesting for a young student. Remember that this is a great way to keep the student engaged in learning.
