Leaders from around the world are coming to Dallas to explore how global impact and purpose drives positive change.
DALLAS, Oct. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Dallas College Chancellor Dr. Justin Lonon will deliver the opening keynote address at the inaugural Global Mission Summit, an international gathering of leaders focused on fueling the knowledge economy and creating meaning through learning, purpose and work.
Hosted by Global Mission Institute, the summit will be Oct. 9โ10 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. It aims to inspire leaders from around the world to align business excellence with a deeper purpose. Dr. Lonon will speak at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.
"The summit's purpose โ to inspire leaders to create global impact while also aligning along purpose โ is perfectly aligned with who we are at Dallas College," Dr. Lonon said. "When we live our purpose authentically, we don't just change our own story โ we help write a brighter future for our communities and our world."
As the presenting sponsor, Dallas College is underscoring its role as a bridge to economic mobility and a leader in innovative, purpose-driven education. Lonon's keynote will focus on how Dallas College is removing barriers, expanding access and preparing students to be future ready.
"In Dallas County, only 37% of adults hold a postsecondary credential โ meaning about a million of our neighbors do not. That's not just a stat; it's a call to action," said Dr. Lonon. "We are in the barrier-busting business at Dallas College because that's what we do โ remove obstacles so students can succeed and earn a livable wage."ย
This year, Dallas College is celebrating its 60th anniversary, a milestone Lonon says is not only about reflecting on the past but also about recommitting to the future and building what he calls a "22nd Century College."
"We are redefining higher education to remove barriers, expand opportunity and prepare students for a rapidly evolving economy," said Dr. Lonon.
