This institute was established as a “Rajkiya Ayurveda Vidyalaya” (state ayurveda school) in 1916. In preliminary years arrangement was made to run two year diploma courses of Ayurveda Upadhyaya, Ayurveda Shastri and Ayurvedacharya was started. In 1949, five year integrated course, B.A.M.S. was started and got the affiliation of “Indian medicine council, U.P.”. In 1956 this institute was affiliated to “Vikram University, Ujjain” and B.A.M.S. course was started and this institute is shifted to present building.
