Founded in 1934 as Arya Medical School by Dr. Banarsi Dass Soni.
- Managed by Arya Samaj, Saban Bazar, Ludhiana, under the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Punjab, from 1936.
- Recognized for LSMF in 1938.
- Renamed to "Arya Medical School" and the attached hospital to "Dayanand Hospital" in 1939.
- Established as a full-fledged MBBS College, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, in 1964.

- Founded by Late Shri H.R. Dhanda, a prominent industrialist of Ludhiana.
