LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Marie Therese Ego Okpala is acknowledged as a Top Professional for her contributions to Spiritual and Psychological Healing for Families in Need.
Reverend Mother Marieย Therese Ego Okpala has dedicated her life to fostering psychological and spiritual healing for families through Catholic devotion, education, and compassionate service. A teacher, psychologist, and social worker, Mother Okpala brings decades of experience to her mission of uplifting communities and guiding others through life's transitions.
Born and raised in Achina, Nigeria, the fourth of fifteen children, Mother Okpala credits her earliest spiritual and practical lessons to her mother. Feeling called to religious life by the age of ten, she has lived out her vocation as a prayerful minister and steadfast advocate for those in need.
Mother Okpala holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and geography from the National University of Ireland, two master's degrees one in arts and counseling and another in television production from Loyola Marymount University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the School of Professional Psychology. Throughout her career, she has combined her deep faith with her professional training to serve adults and children facing critical life changes.
Early in her ministry, Mother Okpala taught at private and Catholic schools, ministered to the homeless, and produced televised Mass programs and video outreach for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. In the late 1990s, she envisioned the Daughters of Divine Promise, an order officially founded in 2005, to help women reach their spiritual potential and expand the community's capacity for service. Today, she continues this mission through training, partnerships with local food banks, and transitional housing support.
Mother Okpala is the author of Regula Vitae and an active member of the Classical Choral Society and the Association of Black Psychologists. Her work has earned commendation, including recognition from the Superior Court of Los Angeles in 2010 for her impactful contributions.
With unwavering devotion, Reverend Mother Marie Therese Ego Okpala remains a beacon of hope and healing empowering families and nurturing spiritual growth across her community.
