UKPSC stands for Uttarakhand Public Service Commission which is the public service commission of the state of Uttarakhand. The organization is responsible for organizing the state-level civil services examinations for the recruitment of different posts in the state. UKPSC Eligibility

The basic eligibility criteria that are required for the candidates to be eligible for the UKPSC examination is given below:

  • The applicants applying for the examination must be citizens of India.
  • Age Criteria: In order to qualify to be eligible to sit for the examination, the age of the candidates must be in between 21 to 42 years as of 1st July 2020. The students belonging to OBC Categories get a relaxation of 3 years age and those from the SC/ ST Category get 5 years relaxation.
  • Educational Qualifications: The applicants who wish to apply for the UKPSC Examination must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University.
  • Physical Standards: Also, there are some specific physical standards that must be fulfilled by the candidates for the specific posts in order to be eligible to apply for that particular post.

UKPSC Application Process

Candidates must follow the steps given below in order to apply for UKPSC (Uttarakhand Public Service Commission) exam:

  • Visit the official website of the UKPSC and click on the application link. Start filling up the form for the Stage- 1 examination.
  • Fill in all the D\details that are required like date of birth, name, parents’ name, address, Aadhaar Number, mobile number, e-mail ID, class X, and XII result, and other information.
  • After successfully filling up all the details and completing the registration process, aspirants will receive their login credentials on their registered mobile number and e-mail ID along with an OTP. Keep the login credentials safely as they will be required in the future.
  • Now, Start filling up the second part of the form by logging into your profile. Fill in the details such as educational qualification, gender, caste, category, and all that is related to the eligibility criteria.
  • After filling up the forms of both the stages, applicants are required to upload all the relevant documents like photograph, signature, caste certificate (if applicable). Make sure that all these documents are ready beforehand.
  • Carefully select the language for the exam and the center or zone preference.
  • After uploading all the required documents, Go to the payment page of the form and submit the application fees.
  • Candidates will receive a confirmation page of the payment of the application. Students are advised to save it or get its printout for future reference.
Application Fees
  • The application fees can be paid using Debit and Credit cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile wallets, etc.
  • The mode of submitting the application fees is online only.
  • Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the e-receipt generated after paying the application fees.
  • There is a difference in the application fees for the students from General and Reserved categories:
    • The application fee for the candidates belonging to General Category is Rs. 150.
    • Those candidates who belong to the SC/ ST and PwD category have to pay the application fees of Rs. 60.

The admit card for the UKPSC examination will be released on the official website of the paper a few weeks before the examination. Applicants can easily find it on the website and download it without any difficulty.

Admit cards for the exam are available on the official website of the UKPSC. The steps to download the UKPSC Exam admit card are given below:

  • Visit the official website of the UKPSC Examination.
  • Check for the link to download the UKPSC Exam admit card.
  • A page for a new login will appear just after when you click on the link. Enter your login credentials there.
  • Download and save the admit card. Take its printout for future reference.
  • If there is a mistake on your admit card, report it to the respective authority immediately.
  • Take your valid identity proof along with your admit card at the exam center on the day of the examination.

UKPSC Exam Pattern

UKPSC (Uttarakhand Public Service Commission) exam is conducted in various stages. There are three phases of the examination, i.e., Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Personal Interview. Applicants are required to clear all three stages in order to reach the final level of the selection process. Given below is the exam pattern of the UKPSC (Uttarakhand Public Service Commission) exam for the current year:

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

The first stage of the process in the UKPSC Examination is the Preliminary Examination. A candidate has to first clear the preliminary stage in order to clear the examination.

  • The preliminary examination of UKPSC includes two papers.
  • Every paper of the UKPSC examination consists of Objective type questions.
  • The duration of each paper will be of 2 hours only.
  • Each paper carries 150 marks.
  • Marks scored in prelims are qualifying in nature, They are counted in final merit.
  • The paper will be in both languages, i.e., English and Hindi.
  • Paper, I will be of General Studies which consists of 150 questions each carrying one mark. So, the total marks of the GS paper will be 150 and the duration of the paper will be 2 hours.
  • Paper-II is of General Knowledge which has 100 questions in which each question carries 1.5 marks. Paper will be of 2 hours and carries total marks of 150.

Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Type Questions)

The second stage of the UKPSC recruitment procedure is the Mains Exam. Only those candidates who clear the prelims examination are called for the Mains Examination. Preliminary Examination is only qualifying in nature, the marks scored in Pre exams are not counted in merit. Only the marks obtained in the Mains examination are counted for Merit.

  • The written test includes questions that are descriptive in nature and the paper will be for three hours.
  • Those applicants who clear the Mains examination are called for a Personal Interview.
  • The language of the question papers is English. The language papers will be set in regional languages.
  • UKPSC Mains has 9 papers: 2 qualifying papers and 4 general studies papers and 2 optional papers.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

The interview is the final stage of the selection process in the UKPSC recruitment process. Only those candidates who clear both preliminary and mains exams are called for the final interview.

  • The main purpose of conducting personal interviews is to judge the mental caliber of the applicants. The personal Interviews test the basic intellectual qualities and the social traits of the individuals applying for the post.
  • The questions asked in the personal interview are mostly related to current events that are of national and international importance.
  • Those applicants who fail to clear the interview or fail to secure minimum marks or cut-off as set by the commission in the first two stages, i.e., Preliminary and Mains examinations are not called for the final interview.

UKPSC Exam Selection Process

UKPSC is one of the most prestigious exams of the Uttarakhand State Government. The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the various civil services posts in the state. The selection in the UKPSC examination is made on the basis of three stages, i.e., Prelims Examination, Mains Exam, and personal interview Stage.
