State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the SBI Clerk 2023 mains exam date on September 21, 2023 on the official website of SBI. SBI Clerk Exam is conducted by the State Bank of India to recruit candidates for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) in its different branches across the country.

Eligibility Criteria 2023

Educational Qualifications: (As on 16.08.2023) He/she must hold a valid degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Age Limit: (As on 01.04.2023) Not below 20 years and not above 28 years as on 01.04.2023, i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1993 and not later than 01.04.2001 (both days inclusive).

Job Profile

  • Functions as a Single Window Operator

    -Day to day bank functions such as opening accounts, amount transfers through cheque/ NEFT/ RTGS; Issuance of Demand Drafts(DD), Cheque clearance, Cheque book requests, receiving inward emails

  • Functions as Head Cashier

    - The clerk also functions as a cashier. This involves handling cash transactions of the concerned branch, clearing, and transfer of cheques

  • The Junior associates may also function as special assistants or universe tellers.
  • The clerks are liable for addressing the customer concerns and resolving them.

Salary

The pay scale is as follows: Rs.17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. The starting Basic Pay is Rs.19900/- (Rs.17900/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).

Preparation

  • SBI Clerk Study Plan

    A candidate should create a timetable or study plan for the preparation of the exam. Bifurcate the topics that you are comfortable in and the topics which are tough for you. Spend more time on the tough topics and practice as much as you can on those specific topics specifically if the weightage is high for those topics.

  • Read regularly

    One should read on a regular basis, this will assist not only in the general awareness section of the written exam but also help in the group discussion and personal interview part. One should read at least one newspaper daily and should also develop a habit of reading a financial magazine.

  • Understand the concepts and basics

    One should focus on understanding the concepts and learning the basics, this will help in solving any type of question. The study material or the coaching institute should also be chosen in a way that it helps in developing understanding of the topics.

  • Practice diligently

    There is no shortcut to hard work, thus one should practice as much as possible. Start with the easier questions and slowly increase the level and practice difficult questions as well.

  • Time management

    If you get stuck with a particular question, simply skip that question and move ahead to the next question to save time. In the SBI clerk online test or any of the objective tests, the qualification is dependent on time. Thus a candidate should time the questions and try to solve the questions as fast as possible with utmost accuracy.

    • A Candidate should spend an ideal time on 1 particular question and in case the person is not able to solve the question, one should move ahead. Even during the exam, one should answer the easy questions first at a glance and then come back to the slightly tougher questions.
  • Practice Mock tests

    Practicing online mock test papers in real time conditions will also help the candidate prepare better for the SBI clerk exam. Candidates can also join a coaching institute or buy good sample papers and practice them on real exam-like conditions.

  • Accuracy

    There is negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer applicable in both the SBI clerk prelims and mains exams. So while attempting the question in the online test make sure to maintain accuracy and balance the number of questions to attempt with the right option.
