Karnataka Public Service Commission is the public service commission of the state of Karnataka which organizes state-level civil services examinations for different posts in the state. The examination is conducted to recruit candidates for various posts in different governmental bodies. The official notification regarding the exam is available on the official website of the commission, i.e., www.kpsc.kar.nic.in

KPSC Eligibility Criteria
The basic eligibility criteria that are required for the applicants to be eligible for the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) exam has been given below:
- The aspirant applying for this exam must be a citizen of India.
- Age Criteria: In order to be eligible to appear for the exam and various posts under KPSC, the age of the applicants must be between 21 to 35 years.
- Educational Qualifications: The applicants applying for the KPSC exam must clear particular education criteria. The aspirants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or Master's Degree from any recognized University under the Government of India.
KPSC Application Process
Below are given the steps to be followed in order to apply for the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) exam
- First of all, visit the official website of the organization and click on the application link to start filling up the form for the stage-1 exam.
- Update your application form with your date of birth, name, parents’ name, aadhaar number, mobile number, email id, class 10 result, education board name, and the name of the category.
- After the successful completion of the registration, the applicants will receive a registration number on their registered mobile number and email address, along with an OTP. These are necessary for future login.
- Fill up the second stage of the form by logging in to your profile again. Fill in the details like religion, gender, educational qualification, and everything related to the eligibility criteria.
- Upload all the relevant documents required after filling up all the details. This includes photographs, signature, and if applicable, the SC/ST certificate. Make sure that all the documents are ready.
- Also, carefully select the language for the exam and the center or zone preference.
- Go to the payment page of the form after uploading all the details and documents and submit the application fees.
- When the payment is confirmed, you will get a confirmation and a page displaying the application form. Save it or get a print-out immediately for future reference.

The admit card will be made available on the official website of the Karnataka Public Service Commission a few weeks before the exam date has been scheduled. You can easily find out if you keep a regular check on the website.
Steps to Download the KPSC 2024 exam Admit card
Below are given the steps to download the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) admit card:
- Visit the official website, i.e.,www.kpsc.kar.nic.in .
- Check for the link to download the KPSC exam admit card.
- When you click on the link, a page for a new login will appear. Enter your login credentials here.
- The admit card will open. Click on the save or download button and then make sure you take a printout for the same.
- In case there is any mistake on your admit card, it should be reported immediately to the respective authority.
- Candidates are advised to bring a valid identity proof along with the admit card to the exam center- without this, you will not be allowed entry.
KPSC Exam Pattern
KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) is conducted in different stages. There are three stages of the exam, i.e., Prelims Exam, Mains Exam, and the personal Interview. To clear the exam, applicants must qualify for all these phases to reach the final level of the selection process. Below is the exam pattern of the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) exam for the year 2024.
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
The first stage of clearing the KPSC exam is the Prelims Exam. An applicant has to appear for the objective test consisting of the Multiple Choice Questions in order to clear the KPSC exam.
- The prelims exam consists of two papers.
- Each paper consists of Objective type questions or Multiple Choice type Questions.
- The marks obtained in the preliminary examination are not counted in merit. They are only qualifying in nature.
- The language of the question paper is English.
- The duration of each of the two papers is 2 hours.
- There is a provision of negative marking. 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.

Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Type Questions)
The second phase of the KPSC recruitment process is the Mains Exam. The applicants who clear the Prelims Examination are called for the Mains Exam. Prelims Examination is of qualifying nature but marks obtained in Mains Examination are counted for merit.
- The written test consists of question papers that are of descriptive type, out of which one paper is of qualifying nature only.
- After clearing the mains examination with the criteria of qualifying marks, candidates are called for a personal interview.
- The question papers for the examination will be of descriptive type.
- Each paper will be for 3 hours.
- The language of the question papers is English. However, the language papers will be set in their respective languages
- KPSC Mains has 9 papers: 2 qualifying papers, 4 general papers, and 2 optional papers.
- KAS papers consist of total marks of about 1750.

Stage 3: Final Interview
The final stage of the KPSC recruitment process is the interview session. The candidates who clear both preliminary and mains examinations are called for the final interview.
- The interview is basically conducted to judge the mental capabilities of the applicants. It is conducted to test the intellectual quotient and the social skills of the individuals applying for this post.
- Most of the questions asked in the interview session are based on general knowledge and from current events and are of national and international importance. This is to judge the interest of the individuals in the current status of the country and state plus the mental alertness and their critical power and depth of interest.
- The applicants who fail to secure such minimum marks or the cut-off criteria as set by the commission in the first two stages of the exam are not called for the final interview round.

KPSC Selection Process
The selection procedure for the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) examination comprises several phases.
