Karnataka Police Department recruits candidates for various agencies and posts. The Director-General of Police and Inspector General of Police are the head of the Karnataka State Police Department.

Notification

This year the department has announced more than 9000 vacancies and will soon release the notification for the dates of the exams.

Dates

The Karnataka police have declared the tentative date for the written examination. The candidates who submitted their applications will now be able to download their admit cards through the official website of Karnataka Police.

According to the official notification released by the Karnataka Police, the examination will be conducted on October 24, 2024.
The Call Letter will soon be uploaded on the Official Website of the Karnataka Police.

A total of 3533 candidates will be recruited for the post of KSP Constable through the recruitment drive by Karnataka Police.

Eligibility

• The candidates applying must have the citizenship of India.
• Only male candidates are allowed for these posts.
• He must have passed his 10th or equivalent from a recognized board or institution.
• The candidates from the General category must be between the age of 18 years and 25 years.
• The candidates from SC/ST/CAT- 01/2A/2B/3A/3B categories must be between the age of 18 years and 27 years.
• The Tribal candidates must be between the age of 18 years and 30 years.

• He must be a domicile or a resident of Karnataka.
• The candidate must know the Kannada language- spoken and written.
• Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree of three years in any discipline from any recognized university or institution.
• The candidates from the General category must have the age between 18 years and 25 years.
• The candidates from SC, ST, CAT- 01, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B categories must be between the age of 18 years and 27 years.
• The Tribal students must be between the age of 18 years and 30 years.

The Karnataka Police Department releases the admit card on the official website. The candidates must go through the notification to find the link to their admit card. They must download the admit card and check if all the details given are correct. In case of any issue, they must contact the authorities immediately. The candidates must download the admit card and carry the printout to the exam center to take the exam.

Karnataka Police Written Exam Paper Pattern for Prelims

• The exam has two papers with a total of 200 questions.
• The total duration of both papers is 90 minutes.
• Both papers contain a total of 200 marks.
• The questions are both descriptive and objective.
• The papers have a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
• Paper 1 is a language paper (English/Kannada) and descriptive in nature.
• It contains 50 marks.
• Paper 2 is the General Studies paper and is objective in nature.
• It consists of 150 questions of 1 mark each.

Karnataka Police Written Exam Paper Pattern for Mains

• There is one descriptive type of language paper (English/Kannada)
• The topics for this paper are essay writing, precise writing, and translation of sentences
• Precise writing contains 10 marks, essay writing 20 marks, and translation of sentences 20 marks.
• The Time duration for this is 90 minutes
• It consists of 50 marks.

Results

Karnataka Police Department releases the result on its official website. To get the results, the students must log in to the official website with their Registration number and Password. They must go through the notification area and look for the notification for their result. They must click on the link to download the result. They must also take a printout for safe-keeping.

Cut-off marks

The cut-off marks are issued right after the results are declared. They determine if the candidate is eligible for the next round of exams. However, the cut-off marks are not the same every year. They vary due to many factors, such as-

Salary

The selected postulants will get a pay scale as compensation. The Karnataka Police Department will provide a good salary for those selected candidates based on their position in the department. The salary structure is as follows:
