CG TET is Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test which is conducted by the Chhattisgarh professional examination board, Raipur. A candidate who is willing to become a teacher in a government or private school in Chhattisgarh needs to successfully clear the examination of CGTET. Eligibility Criteria 2026
Before filling the form for CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher eligibility test) a candidate must check his or her eligibility criteria so that they can appear for the examination.
Age limit- as such there is no age limitation for giving the CGTET.
Educational qualification- graduation or 2 years of diploma in elementary education or graduation with at least 50% marks in Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) in pedagogy or B.ED.
For primary teacher (I-V)- the candidate must have passed the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) or its equivalent with at least 45% marks or relevant B. A/ B. Ed/ B.SC degree with at least 50% marks.
For upper primary teachers (VI-VII)- the candidate must have a relevant degree in B.SC/ B.AD/ D. ED (Diploma in education) with at least 45% marks or a minimum of 50% marks in B. ED.
Exam Application
Online filling of application form
- The application form for the CGTET examination will be released on the official website of the CG TET.
- Candidates have to register themselves through their mobile number, email id, and phone number, etc. on the official website of the CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
- Once the details are filled then the candidate can log in and fill the application form.
- Candidates are required to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph, thumb impression, and signature in JPEG format.
- After all, this process candidate has to pay the fees by using online methods.
- After submitting the form candidates should take a printout for the same.
Application Fees
The application will be different for all the categories and candidates can pay the fees by using the online payment method debit card/ credit card or internet banking.

Admit Card 2026
- The admit card for CGTET Examination is published by the Chhattisgarh professional examination board (CPEB) on the official website of the CG TET.
- The admit card will be available 1 week before the examination date. Candidates can download their admit cards by entering their registration number and password.
- The Admit card will carry the following information: venue, date, timing, examination center of the exam, and other necessary details related to the examination.
- In case candidates are unable to download the admit card then they can contact their authorities immediately.
- It is advisable to download the hard copy of the admit card as there will be no entry for the candidate without the admit card.
Exam Centers
- The candidates will be given the 4 preferences/choices to fill their examination Centre.
- The examination Centre will be mentioned on their admit card of CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
- The Centre for the examination will be across the country.
- Following are the expected centers for the examination- Baikunthpur (Korea), Ambikapur, Dantewada, Durg, Raigarh, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Korba, Kabirdham, Surajpur, Balrampur, Naryanpur, Balod, etc.
Exam Pattern-
- CG TET Exam consists of two papers i.e. is paper 1 for primary level class (I-V) and paper 2 for upper primary class (VI-VIII), candidates have to clear the examination to become a teacher of the primary or upper primary class and candidates who are willing to become the teacher for class I-VIII have to qualify both the examinations.
- The examination will be conducted by the offline method and the duration of the exam will be of 2.5 hours (150 minutes).
- Objective types of questions will be there with a total number of 150 questions. And 1 mark will be rewarded for each correct answer also, no negative marking will be there.

Note-
A candidate who wants to become the teacher for mathematics and science have to attempt the mathematics and science section with child development and both the languages and a candidate who wants to become the teacher for social studies or any other subject have to attempt the social studies & other subject section with other compulsory sections.
Syllabus
For paper 1 (I-V) class
- In Child development and pedagogy- developing of a primary school child, the concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs and pedagogy.
- In Language-1(Hindi) & 2 (English) โ language comprehension and pedagogy language of development.
- In Mathematics- number systems, algebra, geometry patterns, measurement, data handling, solids, ratio and proportion, mensuration, and pedagogical issues.
- In environmental studies- environment, food and shelter, water, family and friends, and pedagogical issues.
For Paper 2 (VI-VIII) class
- Child development and pedagogy- the concept of inclusive education and understanding children with special needs and pedagogy.
- In Language-1(Hindi) & 2 (English) โ language comprehension and pedagogy language of development.
- In mathematics and science- number system, algebra, geometry, mensuration, data handling, and pedagogical issues. Science โ food, materials, the world of the living, moving things, people and ideas, natural phenomena, and resources.
- In social studies- history, geography, social and political life.
Selection Process
- Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the entrance test of CGTET (Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test).
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their marks in the entrance test.
- After that, they will be eligible for the personal interview round.
- If the candidate clears all the rounds then they can become a teacher in Chhattisgarh.
Results:
- The result Yet To Be Announced on the official website of the CG TET.
- Before the declaration of the result, the answer key will be released on the official website by CPEB (Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board).
- Candidates can check their results by entering the roll number and the minimum qualification is 60% marks for the CGTET paper.
- Those who will score more than 60% will get the certificate for the same.
- The candidates who will be able to qualify for the examination will be called for the interview round.
