Notification

• Candidates can download the UGC NET Notification 2021 here in the PDF File. UGC NET Notification 2021 for the December 2020 and June 2021 session has been on August 10, 2021. The last date for the UGC NET Application form is September 05, 2021.
• The NTA has revised the exam dates for December 2020 session and June 2021 section, it was going to be conducted from October 6-8 and 17-19, 2021. However, now the UGC NET will be conducted from October 17 to October 25, 2021. The conducting body has issued another notification on the utter age limit.

The following table consists of the latest UGC NET exam dates as mentioned in the recently released UGC NET Notification.

Eligibility

The Candidates have to fulfill certain eligibility conditions laid down by NTA. UGC NET Eligibility is based on the academic qualification and age limit as described below:

UGC NET 2021 Educational Qualification Requirement

• Candidates must have scored at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in their Post Graduation or equivalent from any recognized university.
• Final year students are also eligible to appear in the exam. However, they will be considered for an award of JRF or professorship after they pass their qualifying exam with minimum marks.
• Ph.D. degree holders whose post-graduation exam was completed before September 19, 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) are provided with an additional relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks requirement.

UGC NET 2021 Age Limit

• Assistant Professorship: There is no age limit for UGC NET Assistant Professorship.
• Junior Research Fellowship: The upper age limit is 30 years as of June 1, 2021.

However, age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates as per the government of India norms to apply for NET JRF:

Applications

The starting date of UGC NET 2021 is August 10, 2021. Candidates will be able to apply till September 05, 2021. The last date to submit the UGC NEt application fees is September 06, 2021. Candidates are required to fill the UGC NET 2021 Application Form online mode only at the official website.

• Step 1: UGC NET Registration 2021 Visit the official website and click on Apply online to fill the registration page. Enter your personal details, email ID, and mobile number.
• Step 2: Filling UGC NET Application Form 2021 Post-registration, a system-generated application number will be sent on the email Id and mobile number. Login again and select your subject, position, and preferred exam center.
• Step 3: Uploading Scanned Images Now, upload your photograph and signature in the specified format.
• Step 4: Pay UGC NET Application Fee Make application fee payment either through debit card/ credit card/ net banking or Paytm The final step is to download the copies of the filled-in application form and e-receipt of fee payment for further reference.​

Admit Card

Candidates have to download UGC NET 2021 Admit Card only from the official website by logging in with their registration number and date of birth. UGC NET 2021 Admit Card will specify the candidate’s name, roll number, category, photograph, signature, allotted exam date, time, and exam center.

Steps to Download UGC NET 2021 Hall Ticket

• Visit the official website.
• Click on the link “Click Here for login for Admit Card”.
• Login with “Application Number” & “Password”.
• The admit card will be displayed on the screen.
• Download it and take a printout for further reference.

Exam Centers

• UGC NET Exam will be conducted in 224 cities this June.
• Candidates have to indicate 4 exam cities in order of their preference while filling UGC NET 2021 Application Form
• NTA will try to allot the most preferred exam center for the candidate.
• However, it reserves the right to allot any exam center other than the ones selected by the candidates.
• Also, it can add or cancel exams in any city if the number of applicants for that city is negligible.
• A city may have more than 1 exam center. The address of the allotted exam center will be mentioned on UGC NET admit card.
• Candidates have to carry their admit card, one passport-size photo, and an original photo ID proof with its photocopy.

Exam Pattern

UGC NET Exam is a computer-based test having multiple-choice questions. The exam has two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2.​ Paper 1 is mandatory for every candidate. On the other hand, the subject of UGC NET Paper 2 should be chosen at the time of the application process.

Syllabus

NTA has updated UGC NET Syllabus 2021 for Paper 1 and all NET subjects under Paper 2.

• UGC NET Paper 1 Syllabus tests teaching and reasoning ability, research aptitude, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.
• UGC NET Paper 2 Syllabus is based on the subject chosen by the candidate. It tests the candidate’s in-depth knowledge and expertise in the respective subject. NTA UGC NET is conducted for a total of 81 subjects.

Selection Process

• Candidates qualifying for the entrance test of UGC NET 2021, will be selected in the subject-wise and category-wise merit list published online. The top 6% of total students who have appeared for both the papers in the test will be considered qualified in the entrance test.
• Admission into various Indian Universities or Institutions for the position of Assistant professor or JRF will be offered on the basis of cut-off score secured as per their categories. The top 15% of candidates from each category and subject will be selected and declared eligible for Assistant Professor Position only.

Result

The UGC NET result for the December 2020 and June 2021 is expected to be released in the month of December 2021. Candidates can download the result from the official website by logging in with their registration number and date of birth. It is declared in the form of a scorecard containing marks obtained in both papers for JRF and LS.

How to Download UGC NET 2021 Result?

• Step 1: Go to the official website of UGC NET.
• Step 2: Click on UGC NET 2021 Result on the menu bar.
• Step 3: Enter your roll number or date of birth, and Application Number
• Step 4: The UGC NET Result 2021 will be displayed on the screen.
• Step 5: The aspirants will download and print the UGC NET Result 2021 for future use.

Expected Cutoff 2021

GC NET Cutoff marks are announced on the NTA and UGC official websites. Candidates must score the UGC NET minimum cutoff to be eligible for Joint Research Fellow, or Assistant Professor posts. After declaring the result, the authorities release the UGC NET category-wise cutoff marks
