The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college was established as one of the excellent Institution in this part of the country managed by the Islamic Academy of Education that which is founded by the dynamic Chairman Al Haj Y Abdulla Kunhi. Yenepoya Medical College Hospital is a Teaching Hospital attached to the Medical College and is functioning since 1999. The Library is housed in a three-story building with an area of about 35,000 sq ft (3,300 m2). All books as required by Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India are provided. A large sports ground encompasses the campus with facilities for Football, Cricket, Hockey ,kabaddi,swimming pool,race course& various other sports activities. Basketball, Volleyball & Tennis courts are provided for, near the hostel premises. The indoor sports centre has facilities for Badminton, Table Tennis and it also houses a well-equipped Gym.
