There are in total 5 subjects in both the grades of the school. Some of the choices of subjects or core areas under the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) is
Science (Mathematics /Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
Commerce (Accounts, Business studies, and Economics)
Humanities/Arts (any three out of History, Political science, Sociology, Psychology, Geography depending on the infrastructure and the availability of teachers in the school)
With any of the three streams, English is the compulsory language subject, with various optional subjects available as the 5th subject. The various Options Available are Math, Economics, Multimedia, Biology, Physical Education, Psychology, Home Science, Legal Studies, Fine Arts, Media Studies etc. The optional subjects are also dependent on the core study practices.
All the State Boards or Regional Boards also have 5 subjects with three mains which are the same as the core subjects of CBSE, one optional language namely Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali or others as per area and one compulsory language English.
The other international boards like IB and ICSE have subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, Commerce, Computer Science, Physical Education etc. Among them, the students have to choose the 5 subjects according to interests and capabilities, with English as one of the compulsory subjects.
After two years of Secondary School, in grade 11, again the students are judged by the school organization as per the CBSE rules and instructions(if one is affiliated to the CBSE board) but are internally assessed within the school, and no standardised pan India exam is scheduled for them. After the completion of class 11, the students give the exams of Higher Secondary (School) and get certificates of HSC / HSSC by completing class 12th.
This schooling is important for the certificate and the age level of the student. Since with the Higher Secondary exams, one must prepare for the goals, he/she aspires and thus have an admission in the perfect college. So this school is sometimes done dummy too, for focussing on the real and actual career path of the individual.
