Eligibility

Constable (Driver) for male Only
  • Passing 10th grade from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Possession of a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence is mandatory.
Constable (Laboratory Assistant)
  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution.
  • A government recognized institution given certificate for the course of a Lab Assistant
Constable (Veterinary) Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution Desirable: One year experience in the treatment of different species of animals, in a recognized Veterinary Hospital.
Constable (Ayah) Female Only
  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Having a certificate from Red Cross Society in First Aid Examination
  • One year of experience in the relevant field.
Constable (Carpenter, Plumber, and Painter)
  • Passing 10th grade with Science as a core subject from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Work experience in respective trade for 2 years; or
  • One year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the respective trade; or
  • Passing two years of diploma in the respective trade or similar trade from a recognized Industrial Training Institute; and
  • Must qualify trade test
Constable (Tailor, Cobbler, Gardener, Cook, Washerman, Barber, Safaiwala, Water Carrier, Waiter)
  • Passing 10th grade from a Recognized Board or Institution
  • Work experience in respective trade for 2 years; or
  • One year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the respective trade; or
  • Passing two years of diploma in the respective trade or similar trade from a recognized Industrial Training Institute
  • Must qualify trade test

Part II: Log In
  • On receiving the registration no. and password, log in to complete the application procedure.

  • Verify the details entered in the form before paying the application fee.
  • After verification, pay the required application fee.

Admit Card

Applicants should keep in mind that an Admit Card is mandatory for the written Exam. The absence of possession of an Admit Card for any applicant will end up in denied admission to the exam hall thereby not being able to participate in the written exam.

The Admit Card for SSB Constable Recruitment 2026 will be available on the website of SSB before the exam date.

How To Download SSB Constable Admit Card
  • Applicants must log on to the official website SSB Recruitment.
  • Click on the tab that says - โ€œAdmit Cardโ€
  • Next, you need to look for the โ€œConstable Driver/ Tradesmanโ€ Option.
  • On clicking, you will be redirected to the Download Admit Card Option.
  • Now you will have to log in with a provisional id & password.
  • Just click on the download admit card option and then press submit.
  • You will be able to download then print the admit card.

Exam Pattern

ROUND 1: Appearing for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)

The Board of Officers detailed by SSB will be conducting the PET and PST at various SSB Locations.

ROUND 2:Written Exam (Common Entrance Test - CET)

Candidates declared qualified in Physical Standard Test (PST) will have to appear in a written examination which will be conducted as per the following:

  • The CT (GD) written examination will consist of Objective Type Questions
  • Each Question Carries One Mark i.e.the total number of questions is 100
  • Time Duration is 2 Hrs.
  • The question papers will be bilingual i.e. English or Hindi
ROUND 3: Documentation And Skill Test

Documentation will be conducted by a Board of Officers and secretarial staff as detailed by SSB, in which all the original documents as claimed by the candidate during filling of online application will be checked properly, and duly attested photocopies of the same will be sought from the candidates for placing in their dossiers.

The skill test for all the posts will be 50 marks, the minimum qualifying marks for all candidates including SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen candidates will be 60%.

Trade tests for all posts will be qualifying in nature. No marks of the trade test will be included in the marks of Paper-I for preparation of the final merit list.

ROUND 4: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

The Detailed Medical Examination will be conducted as per the Revised Medical Guidelines issued by ADG (Medical) on 20.05.2015 and amendments thereof.

Selection Process

The factors involved in the final selection include- merit, their category, and a compiled report of the Review Medical Examination. It is herewith highlighted that the applicants who only obtain the qualifying marks and are found medically fit, may not be weighed for final selection since the cut-off marks will be determined based on several vacancies after the completion of the whole recruitment process. Where equal marks have been obtained by candidates their merit will be fixed as per the following:

  • A candidate who secures more marks in the Trade Test will be ranked higher.
  • In the case where marks mentioned at (a) above are also equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
  • The candidates will be given priority based on the alphabets of their names, in case, date of birth is also the same.

Results

Based on the marks obtained by a candidate on the written examination, a final merit list will be prepared and posted for the selection process.

The Minimum qualifying marks for the written test is given below:

For General, EWS, OBC, & Ex-Servicemen Candidates: 50%
SC, ST Candidates: 40 %
