The State Bank of India conducts the SBI SO exam to select officers in various specialist categories. It welcomes applications for expert officer (SO) recruitment as per vacancies in other departments.

Mostly, recruitment is done for managerial positions. Notifications for senior-level recruiting, on the other hand, are being issued. Recruitment is now underway for several functions.

In most circumstances, recruiting is in two phases: a private discussion follows an online exam and a personal interview; however, in some cases, shortlisting of candidates.

SBI SO 2023 Notification has been released on 12th August 2023 by State Bank of India. SBI SO 2023 exam will be conducted to select eligible candidates to the 47 vacant posts for Specialist Cadre Officer in various branches of State Bank of India on regular basis & contract basis. Online Registration process for SBI SO recruitment will be active from 13th August 2023 to 02nd September 2023. Candidates are required to apply online for the post of Specialist Officer.

SBI SO 2023 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for Assistant Manager Engineer that are filled through SBI SO 2023 exam has been detailed below. A candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria for different positions for which they have applied in order to qualify for further processes.

SBI SO 2023 Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification for SBI SO 2023 (Specialist Officers) exam as on 01st April 2023 is given below:

  • For Assistant Manager-Engineer (Civil): The candidate should have completed a graduation degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% or 6.75 on a scale of 10 to be eligible for Civil Engineer Assistant Manager posts
  • For Assistant Manager-Engineer (Electrical): The candidate should have completed a graduation degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% or 6.75 on a scale of 10 to be eligible for Electrical Engineer Assistant Manager posts
  • For Circle Defence Banking Advisor: The candidate should be a retired Major General or Brigadier from Indian Army, or from comparable ranks from Indian Navy or Air Force.
SBI SO 2023 Age Limit

The candidate applyling for Assistant Manager posts should be of minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years to apply for SBI SO 2023 as on 01st April 2023.

The candidate applying for Circle Defence Banking Advisor should be of less than 60 years as on 31st May 2023.

SBI SO 2023 Post Qualification Experience

The candidate should hold 2 Years of work experience for graduate and 1 year for Post-graduate

SBI SO Selection Process

The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the online written examination and interview. The weightage of online test and interview is 70% and 30%. The candidate have to qualify in both the stages to get shortlisted for the post of Assitant Manager Engineer- Civil & Electrical. The online exam is scheduled for 25th September 2023 tentatively.

Steps to Apply Online for SBI SO 2023 Exam

  • Step 1: Click on NEW REGISTRATION button provided on the top most right corner of the home page of the link provided above.
  • Step 2: Start your application process fro SBI SO 2023 by providing the basic details such as name, contact number, email id, address etc. and click on save and next button.
  • Step 3:Upload your photograph and signature in the required format as provided by State Bank of India. The permissible size of the photograph must be 4.5 cm * 3.5 cm and the photograph must be of passport size. Both the photograph and the signature must be clear and legible. Permissible file size of photograph must be of minimum 20 KB and of maximum 50 KB and that of the signature must be of minimum 10 KB and of maximum 20 KB.
  • Step 4: Fill in your academic details and professional qualification in this step of your online application process. Click on save and next button after filling in the details.
  • Step 5: Preview your application form one last time as you won’t be allowed to make any changes further. Click on save and next button after previewing your Application Form.
  • Step 6: Pay your Application Fee through Online Payment Option, i.e. through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
  • Step 7: Click on Final Submit Button. Your application form will be submitted successfully. You will be sent an email as well as a text message with your registration ID and password by SBI for further login into the official website.

  • SBI SO Exam Pattern (For Law Officers)

    For the post of Law Officers, applicants will have to attempt 2 papers- Question Paper 1 and Question Paper 2. Question paper 1 comprising 50 questions from the English Language while 70 questions from Reasoning Ability will be asked. In question paper 2, professional knowledge will be tested for a maximum of 50 marks.

  • SBI SO Exam Pattern (For Official Language Officers)

    Official Language Officers will be required to have proficiency in Hindi and English language along with the possession of some reasoning abilities. Based on these skills the exam will be conducted. Question paper 1 shall be conducted for 90 minutes. Question paper 2 will be consisting of professional knowledge questions

  • SBI SO Exam Pattern (For Economist)

    Unlike other exams, candidates for this post are required to appear for 3 papers. Question Paper 1 shall be attempted within 90 minutes’ time. While Question Per 2 and Question Paper 3 will be conducted in 45 minutes for each paper,The third question paper for the post of ‘Economist’ will be of a descriptive nature. Candidates will be asked to write an essay on a topic related to Economics. The question paper will be of 50 marks. 45 Minutes will be provided to the candidates to solve the question paper.

SBI SO 2020 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme is such that, questions asked in question paper 1 will be comprising one mark for each correct answer. 0.25 Or ¼ mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. In question paper 2, 50 questions for a total of 100 marks will be asked. There will be different exams which carry different marks and also time allotted to them is different.
