RBI Assistant 2024 Eligibility

Nationality
  • A Citizen of India
  • The subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January ,1962
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zaire, or Zambia with the intention of residing in India permanently.residing in India permanently.
Age limit

RBI Grade B Age Limit (As on 1st of January 2024): RBI has defined minimum age criteria for appearing in the RBI Officer (Grade ‘B’) examination. Candidates are required to be aged between 21 years and 30 years (both age included) to apply for RBI Grade B exam 2024. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 2000. For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.

RBI Grade B Age Relaxation: Candidates, who belong to the reserved category will be provided relaxation in their upper age as per the rules decided by the Board.

Educational Qualification
  • Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–(General): Minimum 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations. Minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters/years
  • Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DEPR: A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.
  • Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DSIM: Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (aggregate of all semesters/years) OR Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institute OR M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of all semesters/years) OR Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

RBI Grade B Exam 2024 Application Fee:

It is mandatory for all the applicants to pay the application fee in order to successfully submit the application form. The RBI Grade B application fee should be paid through a credit/debit card or using net banking. Below is the category-wise application fee to be paid while submitting the RBI Grade B form.

It is advised that the candidates keep a valid and active email id and contact no. throughout the RBI Grade B Recruitment Process to receive all the updates related to it.   • Click on the link given above once it is active or goes to the official website rbi.org.in.
  • Separate links for Online applications for Gr B (DR) General and Online applications for DEPR/ DSIM would be displayed.
  • For fresh registration, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter the Important details asked.
  • A Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system.
  • An Email & SMS is sent to the registered email ID and a Mobile number containing the Registration number and Password.
  • Log in with the Registration number and Password and fill in all the important details asked there.
  • Upload scanned copy of recent photograph and signature, left-hand thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.

RBI Grade B 2024: Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B 2024 Exam is a three phrase process that includes:

  • Preliminary Exams
  • Mains Exam
  • Language Proficiency Test

Candidates are required to clear all three phases to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in the Reserve Bank of India. The Final merit list will be based on candidates’ performance in the main exam and interview round.

RBI Grade B Job Profile

After finishing the probationary period officers will be then posted in their respective departments such as DR, DEPR, and DSIM. The typical working hours of an officer will be 9 to 5 with 5 working days a week. The usuals job profile of an RBI Grade B officer is as follows:

  • Handing the Currency Issue and its Circulation: This includes the management of currency and ensuring its proper circulation and exchange.
  • Ensuring the Nation’s Financial Stability: This includes maintaining the cash inflow and maintenance of the order of the bank by ensuring an adequate supply of liquidity of the productive sector of the country.
  • Handling Government and Central Bank Accounts: This includes activities like managing various state and central government accounts by doing the merchant banking functions for them.
