NTSE exam is the National level scholarship program by Govt. of India and the most venerated exam of India. It is not only about scholarship but a matter of great pride and honour for every student to be recognised as the nationโs talent. The NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) examination is conducted every year at two levels โ Stage I (State level) and Stage II (National Level). NTSE Stage I is conducted by States and NTSE Stage II is conducted by NCERT.

Eligibility
According to the criteria laid out by CBSE, NTSE is open for the students of Indian nationality irrespective of whether they study in India or abroad at class X level.
- -Candidates studying in India will be selected on the basis of their screening examination will be eligible for NTSE.

State-level authorities are releasing NTSE application form 2026 for stage 1 exam. Some states are accepting application forms through respective schools, while some are releasing NTSE registration 2026 form online. Students can download NTSE application form 2026 from the official website of states and UTs or they can collect it from school authorities.
How to Apply for NTSE 2026 in offline mode?
- Contact the respective school authority and collect NTSE 2026 form. Fill it with correct details.
- Get the filled application forms signed and attested by the school principal.
- Now, attach the required documents with the application form and submit the same to the school authority.
- The head of schools further submits the completely filled applications to the State Liaison Officer before the last date as stated in their application form.
Admit Card
- NTSE admit card 2026 for HP, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh has been released.
- NTSE West Bengal admit card 2026 can be downloaded soon. NTSE admit card for stage 1 for other states has been released .
- While some states will provide stage 1 NTSE 2026 admit cards in offline mode through respective schools.
- Students can download their NTSE admit card 2026 from the official website or they can collect the same from the respective school authority.
Exam Centers
At the time of filling the application form for NTSE, students have to select the particular exam center. The students can check the name of the examination center on their admit card once the application form is successfully submitted.
Exam Pattern
The NTSE is conducted in two stages i.e. Stage I and Stage II. The NTSE paper is available in both the Hindi and English medium. The students have to select any one language from both the languages. The paper is divided into two sections i.e. Mental Ability Test (MAT), and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
- The paper consists of Objective type multiple choice questions.
- The examination is conducted through the offline mode only.
- For every correct answer, 1 mark will be given and there is no negative marking at stage 1 and stage 2.
- Reserved category candidates have to secure 32% marks to qualify the test, whereas general category candidates have to secure 40% marks to qualify the test.

Syllabus
Syllabus of NTSE is based on 9th & 10th class level. For Stage 1, NTSE preparation should be state wise & for Stage 2, the preparation should be national level wise. Students are advised to go through each and every topic. NTSE consists of multiple choice questions which are asked from the subjects like Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English, General Knowledge and Mental Ability syllabus.
Result
The stage 1 NTSE exam result 2026 has been declared by Telangana, Haryana, Karnataka and some more state exam conducting authorities. Other states will declare their results soon.
Some release it online while a few release NTSE 2026 result in offline mode. Along with the NTSE stage 1 result, the cutoff and merit list of selected candidates is also released. Qualified candidates have to appear in the NTSE stage 2 exam.
Estimated Cut-off
NTSE cutoff 2026 is the minimum score a candidate must obtain in order to qualify for the next stage.
The stage 1 cut off will be released by the states while stage 2 cut off will be released by NCERT.
Students should attain a minimum 40% marks to qualify the examination while the minimum qualifying marks for physically handicapped students is 32%.
