Candidates who want to appear for the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) 2026 examination can apply online now by paying a late fee above the registration fee. Eligibility Criteria

APSET 2026 eligibility criteria that aspirants need to fulfil in order to be eligible to appear for the entrance exam is as mentioned below:

• Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s degree or equivalent exam from any university/college that is recognized by UGC. Aspirants belonging to reserved categories such as OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD are eligible to apply if they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in their Master’s degree or equivalent exam.
• Aspirants who are appearing for their Master’s degree final year exam and whose exam result is awaited can also apply for APSET 2019 exam. But such aspirants will be offered provisional admission and they need to submit their exam result details at the time of admission.
• Candidates who possess a PhD degree and who have completed their Master’s level examination by September 19, 1991 (irrespective of the date when the result is declared) will be eligible for 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (that is, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in APSET exam.

The official website informs that “Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates, whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects may appear in a related subject”.

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor.

Application Process

Andhra University, Visakhapatnam has started the APSET 2026 application process. Candidates can fill the APSET application form 2026 by following the given steps.

• Visit the official website- https://apset.net.in/
• Click on the ‘Registration’ tab
• Read the important instructions
• Click on the ‘Apply Now button at the bottom of the page
• Fill in the required information and enter a password of your choice
• Make application fee payment only by Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking
• Fill in the remaining details such as educational qualification, choice of exam center, etc. and Submit
• Upload your scanned photograph and signature in jpg/jpeg format (Photograph should be between 15kb to 50kb and Signature should be between 5kb to 20kb)
• Submit and save the confirmation page

Exam Centres

APSET exam is conducted in various cities across Andhra Pradesh. Candidates must note that there may be multiple venues in the cities listed below.

The exam will be held in eight regional centers across the state of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates can select their preference for exam city at the time of filling the APSET application form 2026.

Exam Pattern

• APSET 2026 will comprise Paper I and Paper II, and the candidates will have to appear for both in order to be eligible for the subsequent registration process.
• Paper-I will be common for all aspirants whereas Paper-II will be based on the subjects opted by the candidates.
• Paper-I will be conducted bilingually (Telugu and English)
• Paper-II will be conducted for subjects like Economics, Commerce, History, Education, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Work, and Sociology, which will be conducted bilingually except for the Language subjects.
• Questions will be asked in Objective format, that is, MCQ.
• There will be negative marking for any incorrect attempt.

Selection Process

APSET selection process includes the following steps:

• Step 1: Fill APSET Application Form
  Aspirants need to fill the APSET 2026 application form on the official website of the exam. The application process for the APSET exam would be complete only when candidates fill in all their educational details, personal details, upload their passport size photograph as well as pay the APSET 2026 application fee before submitting it.
• Step 2: Get APSET Admit Card
  Candidates can download their APSET 2026 admit card from the official website of the exam by providing their registration number and date of birth.
• Step 3: Appear for APSET
  Aspirants need to appear for the APSET exam as per the date, time, and venue mentioned on their admit card. The APSET exam consists of two papers. While Paper-I is common for all aspirants, Paper-II consists of questions from the stream/subject selected by the candidate. The minimum qualifying marks in the APSET exam are as follows:
