TSPSC stands for Telangana State Public Service Commission, it is an organization created by the Constitution of India under article 315 to select Group 'A' and Group 'B' civil servants for the Indian state of Telangana according to the merits of the applicants and the rules of reservation. The examination is conducted annually by TSPSC to recruit candidates into the different wings of the state administration departments under the Telangana State Government.

TSPSC Eligibility Criteria

TSPSC Group I 2021 Eligibility

In the details mentioned below, the applicants will understand the eligibility criteria required to apply for the TSPSC Group I exam. Only those applicants with the right qualifications are eligible to apply for the posts. Go through the details here :

General Graduation from any recognized university in India incorporated either by Central Act, Provincial Act or State Act (or) Graduation from an institution that is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) (or) Any Equivalent Qualification
TSPSC Group I 2021 Age relaxation

As per the TSPSC notification, the age limit of the applicants for most of the posts is 18 to 44 years. However, as per the government norms, the upper age is relaxed for certain reserved aspirants. The details regarding age relaxation of certain categories are as follows :

SC/ST 5 years
BC 5 years
PHC 10 years
Ex-servicemen/NCC 3 years

TSPSC Application Process

To apply for the TSPSC Group 1 services, you must follow the following steps:

  • Visit the official website of TSPSC
  • Complete the “One Registration” Process and upload the photo and signature accordingly.
  • Once the registration is done, you can log in using your login credentials. Click on “Online Application”.
  • Pay the application fees as specified according to your category.
  • Take a print of your submitted application form for future reference.
Application Fees

Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of Rs 120 and an application processing fee of Rs 250 in order to apply for the TSPSC Group I examination. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories are exempted from fee payment.

Documents for TSPSC Group I Exam 2021

The applicant needs to carry certain documents given in the notification to the respective exam center. The examiners use these documents to verify the identification proof of the candidates during the exam. The verification is done to curb fraudulent practices. Below are the lists of documents that are given in the exam notification :

TSPSC Admit Card

Steps to Download Admit Card

Telangana State Public Service Commission releases the admit card of the exam prior to a week. The applicants should continuously check for any exam-related notifications at tspsc.gov.in. In order to download the TSPSC Group I Admit Card, applicants should follow the following steps :

  • The applicants should visit the official website of TSPSC at tspsc.gov.in
  • When the home page of the website is opened, you will find download hall tickets for the TSPSC Group I 2021 exam displayed under Notifications.
  • Click on the link and you will be directed to a page. Here, applicants need to enter the hall ticket number, date of birth, and a one-time password sent to their mobile phone.
  • After entering the details, the aspirants will find instruction guidelines to be followed for the exam.Once you accept them, you will find a download admit card option.
  • Now, click on the download link and print at least 2 hard copies.
  • On the day of the examination, carry your admit card hard copies along with identification documents that are mentioned on your hall ticket.

TSPSC Exam Pattern

TSPSC Group I Exam 2021 is divided into 3 rounds or stages. First-round is the Prelims. It has only one paper carrying 150 questions objective type. The second round Mains is a descriptive paper. It has 6 papers and a qualifying English language paper. The third round is the Interview. The details of all three rounds are given below :

  • Question types of prelims tests will be Objective type. The duration for the test is 2 hours and 30 minutes while the subjects included are general studies and mental ability with 150 marks in total.
  • For the mains exam, there will be a qualifying examination for general English for 150 marks whereas the duration will be of 3 hours.
  • Paper 1 of TSPSC has a duration of three hours while the total marks are 150, whereas the subjects included in Paper 1 Education and Human Resource, developments in human science and tech, history and culture of India, Indian Politics, Indian justice, and growth.
  • Paper 2 of TSPSC also has a duration of 3 hours with total marks of 150. The subjects included in Paper 2 are as follows: History, Geography of Telangana with special reference to the modern period from 1757 to 1947 AD.
  • Paper 3 of TSPSC has total marks of 150 with a duration of three hours and the subjects are Indian Constitution and Governance.
  • Paper 4 of TSPSC has a total mark of 150 with a duration of three hours and the subjects are Indian and Telangana Economic Development.
  • Paper 5 of TSPSC has total marks of 150 and a similar duration of three hours whereas the subjects included are as follows: Science, Technology, and Data Interpretation.
  • Paper 6 of TSPSC has total marks of 150 and a similar duration of three hours and the subjects which are included are Formation of Telangana, Movement of Telangana.
  • Total marks from all the main exams are 900.
  • After selection from main exams, candidates have to go through an interview process which is of 100 marks.
  • The total marks from the entire examination process are 1000.

Prelims

Once a candidate decides to give the TSPSC Exam, the first stage is that the candidate needs to clear the Prelims. Though it is only a qualifying paper, it is of utmost importance to candidates in order to become eligible for the next round. Thus, the candidate needs to go through the given syllabus, make notes out of it and revise. It is also important to give enough mock tests in order to get a better understanding of the subject and better scores.

TSPSC Selection Process

TSPSC Group I 2021 Selection Process

Telangana State Public Service Commission recruits applicants for gazette posts. The main criteria for the selection of applicants for various posts include skills, knowledge, conceptual understanding, and abilities. Group 1 exam is of 3 stages. In the first stage, applicants are tested on their aptitude skills and the current happenings in society. Only when the applicants qualify prelims, they are eligible to write the Mains examination. The mains stage is the most important round to clear this exam.

The applicants must be well versed in the complete syllabus of the six tests that are mentioned. In the last stage, applicants are tested for their personality along with the knowledge and content that they possess. The selection of the applicants depends on the marks scored in the Mains and Interview stage. The prelims stage is only a qualifying round.

TSPSC Group I Answer Key 2021

The answer key for the first two rounds i.e. prelims and mains will be published on the official website of TSPSC. The applicants should look out for the answer key notifications after a month or 2 months after the examination date. The applicants can also raise any objections to the answers provided in the answer key by the authorities within a given grace period.

TSPSC CutOff

TSPSC Group I Cut off 2021

The cut-off marks for the TSPSC Group I exam don’t remain the same each year. It keeps on changing from year to year. The calculation of cut-off marks is not announced to the public. The process is known only to TSPSC exam authorities. However, cut-off marks usually depend on factors like the number of vacancies, number of students, and difficulty of the paper. The candidates should calculate their marks based on the released answer key. If the candidate is scoring above the cut-off marks, then there is a huge possibility of the candidate appearing for the next round.

TSPSC Group I Result and Merit List

The applicants can check whether they have passed or failed a particular round based on the cut-off marks and the marks that they have scored in the exam. After the completion of 3 rounds, TSPSC announces the candidate's scorecard of all three rounds on its official website. Based on the marks scored by the aspirants, a merit list will be prepared by the authorities, and accordingly, candidates will be allotted different posts based on their preference and mark scored.

A. Yes, Candidates belonging to other states are eligible to apply. However, such candidates will be considered as OC under Open Competition.
