Eligibility Criteria 2024

  • Age Criteria: Age must be between 18 – 27 years as of January 1, 2024, however, certain reserved category candidates can claim for reservation according to the Indian government norms. More specifically, the aspirants should not have been born before 2 January 1994 and not later than 1 January 2003.
  • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or should belong to Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India.
  • Educational Criteria: must have cleared or appearing class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized educational board or University.

Data Entry Operator Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on the computer. The speed will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words / key depressions as per the given passage.
Data Entry Operator in the Office of The Comptroller And Auditor General(C& AG) The speed of 15000 key depressions per hour will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage
Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDS/JSA) and Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants(PA/SA) The speed of 10500 key depressions per hour will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage.

Job Profile

Data Entry Operator
  • The DEO’s prime responsibility is the Handling of the Office Computers.
  • The Data Entry Operator must have proficiency with MS Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
  • He/She has to create various notes and reports daily.
  • Also, he/she has to enter and format data into the computer.
  • Maintenance of the Database.
  • Creating a physical backup of the files by scanning and printing various documents.
  • Arrangement of all the files in a way that is easily accessible to everyone.
Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant
  • The Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant will be tasked with the disposal of Mails.
  • Maintaining the Data of the Office.
  • Providing input for various Customer Support queries.
  • Rectifying the mistakes in the addresses.
  • Returning the mail if the address is incorrect.
Lower Divisional Clerk/Junior Secretariat Assistant
  • The mails have to be registered timely.
  • The updates and other data has to be entered onto the computer.
  • Furthermore, they are responsible for indexing and maintaining the File Registers.
  • Management of Files throughout the hierarchy of the office.
  • Also, the monthly salary slips are to be created by the post of SSC CHSL LDC / JSA.
  • You have to complete the clerical work along with the maintenance of workflow in the office.

FAQ's

Ques: Is there any negative marking in SSC CHSL 2024?

Ans: Yes. As per SSC CHSL 2024 Exam Pattern, Tier 1 is a 60 minutes long computer-based test of 200 marks. The exam will have 25 questions each from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language sections. Each question will be of 2 marks and for every wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted.

Ques: How many times is SSC CHSL conducted in a year?

Ans: The exam is divided into 3 tiers and each tier is conducted only once a year. The syllabus for each tier is different. Tier 1 syllabus includes sections of General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. Candidates who will qualify in Tier 1 will become eligible to appear for Tier 2 and 3.

Ques: What is the final selection criteria followed by SSC CHSL?

Ans: SSC CHSL Selection Process will be based on the result of all three tiers. Candidates need to qualify for each tier to appear in the subsequent tier. The final selection list will be prepared by shortlisting applicants based on their cumulative performance across the first two tiers. Tier 3, a skill-based test is a final stage to ensure that candidates possess the required skills.
