RRB NTPC 2026 CBT 1 exam is conducted to recruit applicants for various posts such as Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Time Keeper, Goods Guard, Traffic Assistant, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in the Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways, Know Station Master Salary.

The RRB NTPC stands for Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories. RRB NTPC examination is organized by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). A total of approx. 1,26,30,885 applicants applied for the exam. The syllabus of RRB NTPC is of Class 10, 12, and graduation levels. The examination is conducted in 15 languages.

RRB NTPC Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria of RRB NTPC consist of the upper age limit, educational qualification(s), and medical standards. However, the terms of age and educational qualification is essential to be considered primarily.

The details of the eligibility are given below as per the terms of the official notification.

  • For the undergraduate level posts, the minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.
  • For graduate-level posts, the minimum age limit is 18 years and the minimum age is 33 years.

RRB NTPC Application Form

The RRB NTPC application form started on March 01, 2019. The last date for RRB NTPC final submission was March 31, 2019. The application form of the upcoming RRB NTPC will be released on the official websites of RRB.

  • The application fees can be paid both offline and online.
  • Online payment can be made via Netbanking, Credit/ Debit/ Rupay/ Visa/ Master Card.
  • Offline payment of RRB NTPC application fees can be made via E-challan where cash is to be deposited at SBI bank.

RRB NTPC Admit Card

The RRB NTPC admit card for the 7th Phase of the CBT-1 Exam is expected to be announced on the regional websites officially. Applicants can obtain their RRB NTPC 2026-27 Admit Card by using their user ID and password.

  • Before downloading the admit card, check if the information is right.
  • Take a printout of the admit card as the soft copy is not allowed in the exam centres.
  • Also, save the PDF in a save folder.

RRB NTPC Exam Center

RRB NTPC examination centres are in 33 states as well as the Union Territories of India. During the RRB NTPC application process, applicants are allowed to choose 5 RRB NTPC exam centres in the order of their preference. In the RRB NTPC admit cards, the exam centre in which applicants must appear will be mentioned.

The commission has the right to allot any centre. However, after allotting the exam centre, candidates do not possess the right to change the exam centre as per their preference.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

The RRB NTPC written test will be taken in 2 stages:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)-1
  • Computer Based Test (CBT)-2
RRB NTPC Exam Pattern: CBT-1
  • The 1st Stage CBT is conducted for screening the aspirants.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every question, attempted wrong.
  • No marks are deducted if a question is left unanswered.
  • The exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 Minutes.

  • The normalized score of RRB NTPC CBT-1 will be used for shortlisting of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT as per their merit.
  • Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
  • These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
RRB NTPC Exam Pattern: CBT-2
  • 120 questions are making a total of 120 marks.
  • 1/3 of the marks assigned to each question are deducted for every wrong answer, as negative marking.
  • Normalization of marks is done.
  • The level of difficulty of the question varies depending on the levels of posts.

RRB NTPC Syllabus

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has prescribed the RRB NTPC syllabus. The objective type of questions will be asked from the following topics.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

The individuals who will be able to obtain the cutoff marks of the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will go through the below-mentioned selection process. Applicants can check the RRB NTPC selection process here in details

RRB NTPC CBAT
  • The applicants need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks to qualify.
  • This applies to all aspirants irrespective of category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
  • Applicants will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for consideration for the post of SM/TA.
  • The CBAT will have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
  • There will be no negative marking in CBAT.
  • Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.
RRB NTPC Typing skill test
  • Qualifying in nature.
  • Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for the typing test.
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility. Take a look at the expected cutoff of RRB NTPC
RRB NTPC Medical Standards

Applicants must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) for which they have applied. For this, they should refer to the medical standards for each post. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) will not be given any alternative appointment.

RRB NTPC Document Verification

Applicants equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification. Aspirants will be called for this stage of RRB NTPC Recruitment under a few circumstances such as:

  • Based on the performance of candidates in CBT II and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBT/TEST (as applicable),
  • candidates equal to 50% (may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of RRBs) of the number of vacancies for various posts.

RRB NTPC Cutoff Marks

Multiple facts determine the RRB NTPC qualifying marks. The primary factors are listed below:

  • The total number of appeared candidates
  • The zone-wise number of vacancies

RRB NTPC Vacancies and Salary Structure

The vacancies for RRB NTPC Exam have been revised to 35,208, deducting the number of DLW vacancies from the RRB Allahabad zone. The DLW vacancies under RRB ALLAHABAD have been cancelled. Hence, the overall vacancies for RRB Allahabad have been decreased from 4099 to 4030.
