The recruitment in the Indian Railways for the post of male and female candidates RPF (Railway Protection Force) constables and RPSF (Railway Protection Special Force) Constables is done through the RPF Constable examination. A large number of vacancies are announced every year for this post in different zones of Indian Railways by the Ministry of Railways.
The RPF stands for Railway Protection Force. This exam is a national-level examination centralized exam but the recruitment process is different from one zone to another. The notification of the RPF Constable exam for this year will be announced in a short time. It has been delayed due to the spread of the novel Coronavirus disease. Below are given the details and some of the important facts related to the RPF Constable exam for the year 2020.

Eligibility
The basic eligibility criteria that are required for the applicants to be eligible for the RPF Constable Exam 2020 has been given below:
- Aspirants appearing for the exam must be citizens of India.
- Age Criteria: The age of the candidates appearing for the exam must be between 18 and 25.
- Educational Qualifications: The educational qualification of the candidates appearing for the exam is that the candidates must be SSLC/ matric passed from a recognized board.
- Other Criteria: The individuals appearing for the exam must possess certain physical criteria and physical efficiency.
Applications
The notification for the RPF Constable application process releases in November and the procedure usually starts in the same month. RPF constable 2020 notification is yet to be published.
Steps to Apply for RPF Constable 2021
The following are the steps to be followed for applying for RPF Constable 2020 exam:
- Open the official website of the RPF and click on the application link to start filling up the form for the stage-1 exam.
- In the first stage of the form, you have to share your Date Of Birth, name, parentsโ name, aadhaar number, mobile number, email id, class 10 result, education board name, and category.
- Once the registration is completed successfully, you will receive a registration number on your registered mobile number and email address, along with an OTP. These are necessary for future login.
- You have to log in to your profile again and fill up the second phase of the form. This includes information like religion, gender, educational qualification, and everything related to the eligibility criteria.
- Once all these details are filled up by the applicants, they will be redirected to the page for uploading the documents. This includes photographs, signature, and if applicable, the SC/ST certificate. Make sure that all the documents are ready.
- Also, carefully select the language for the exam and the center or zone preference.
- After the upload is completed, you will have to go to the page for payment. General applicants will have to pay INR 500 and others have to pay INR 250. The payment can be done through net banking, Debit and credit cards, for, and even bank Challan.
- When the payment is confirmed, you will get a confirmation and a page displaying the application form. Save it or get a print-out immediately for future reference.
Admit Card
The admit card will be made available on the official website of the RPF a few weeks before the RPF Constable examination date has been scheduled. You can easily find out if you keep a regular tab of the website.
Steps to Download RPF 2021 exam Admit card
The following are the steps to follow to download the RPF 2020 admit card:
- Visit the official website of RPF viz. Link
- Check for the link to download the RPF exam admit card.
- When you click on the link, a page for a new login will appear. enter your login credentials here.
- The admit card will open. Click on the save or download button and then make sure you take a printout for the same.
- In case there is any mistake on your admit card, it should be reported immediately to the respective authority.
- You must bring along a valid identity proof along with the admit card to the exam center- without this, you will not be allowed entry.
Exam Pattern
RPF Constable examination is conducted in different phases. There are four stages of the exam, i.e., Computer-based test (CBT), Physical Measurement Test (PET), and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). To clear the exam, applicants must qualify for all these phases to reach the final level of the selection process. Below is given the exam pattern of the RPF Constable exam for the year 2020.
Stage 1: Computer-based test
The first stage of clearing the RPF Constable exam is the Computer-based online test. A candidate has to appear for the computer-based online test to clear the constable exam.
- The duration of the test is 90 minutes and there is no provision of sectional timing.
- The questions that come in the test are based on topics like General awareness and Science, Arithmetic, General Intelligence, and Reasoning.
- All questions are compulsory in the paper. Every correct answer will fetch you 1 mark.
- The policy of negative marking is followed in the computer-based online test. 1/3rd marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- The question paper will be made available in Hindi and English along with in different regional languages, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Manipuri, and Punjabi.
- The level of questions asked in the paper will be of the Class 10th level.

Stage 2: PET/PMT
The second stage of the RPF Constable recruitment process is PET/ PMT. The candidates who clear the computer-based online test are called for the Physical Measurement Test (PET) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Both of these tests are of qualifying in nature but candidates are required to qualify all the sections.

RPF Constable 2021 Exam Vacancy
RPF Constable exam is conducted at the national level but the recruitments are made based on the zones. The candidates planning to appear for the RPF Constable exam 2020 must be aware of the vacancies as released by the Ministry of Railways. RPF Constable Selection Process
Below given are the stages that an applicant has to clear to qualify for the RPF Constable examination.
- Computer Based Test: The first stage of clearing the RPF Constable exam is the Computer-based online test. A candidate has to appear for the computer-based online test to clear the constable exam.
- PET/ PMT: To appear in PET/PMT, candidates have to qualify for the CBT exam first. Both of these tests are qualifying in nature.
- Document Verification: The candidates appearing for the RPF Constable exam and clearing the above-mentioned two stages are called for the document verification thereafter.
- Medical Examination: The final stage of the test is the medical checkup. This is only done for the candidates who finally qualify for the first three stages. The medical examination of the candidates is done at the Railway hospitals.
- Training: After clearing the computer-based online test and going through the medical examination, document verification, candidates need to undergo certain training to get a certificate. This training certificate helps the candidates in their official joining process.
