RBI Assistant Exam is conducted by Reserve Bank of India every year to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Assistants in various branches of Reserve Bank of India across India. RBI Assistant 2024 Notification is expected to be published on the official website of RBI tentatively in the September 2024. The selection process followed by RBI to select candidates for the post of Assistant is carried through Prelims, Mains and Language Proficiency Test. The final result will be based on the marks scored in Mains Exam and Language test.

Nationality
  • A Citizen of India
  • The subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January ,1962
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zaire, or Zambia with the intention of residing in India permanently.residing in India permanently.
Age limit

A candidate must range between 20-28 years of age to be eligible for RBI Assistant 2024 Exam. Age relaxation is given too candidates belonging to reserved category. The age relaxationas granted by the Government of India is mentioned in the table below:

Educational Qualification

A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% and above in any discipline to be eligible for the RBI Assistant Exam 2024. He/She must hold knowledge of computers as well as have the proficiency in the official language of the concerned state of Union Territory.

It comprises of a total of 5 sections in the exam spread across 200 questions.

  • Similar to the prelims examination, the negative marking of 0.25 is there for every incorrect answer and 1 mark is given for every correct answer.
  • Students can choose to attempt the paper in Hindi or in English, except for the English Section.
  • All the questions will be of objective in nature and the duration of the exam is 135 minutes

RBI Assistant 2024 – Job Profile

RBI Assistant is basically a clerical level post in various regional offices of RBI located in the state capitals (mostly). The job responsibilities of an RBI Assistant include:

  • Maintaining files – It includes collection of receipts, maintaining of Ledger, Balance tally etc.
  • Data Entry – Entering of day-to-day transactions (Computer-based working)
  • Replying and maintaining Email logs
  • Responding to RTI Queries

Perks Offered To RBI Assistants
  • Accommodation facility:RBI Assistants are eligible for official accommodation but the condition is that it should be available and if you are taking official accommodation, you are not entitled to House Rent Allowance.
  • Books and Newspaper Allowance:As an assistant in RBI, you are entitled to book grant allowance, newspaper allowance etc. Apart from that, they are entitled to briefcase grant too as an assistant.
  • Conveyance Expenses:If you have a vehicle and you use it for official purposes, you are entitled for reimbursement of the maintenance expenses incurred on the vehicle every month.
  • Medical Facilities:RBI takes care of its employees in sickness and health issues as you will be reimbursed for any treatment expenses and hospitalization charges. While it is 100% for the employees, 75% of the total cost is reimbursed in case of the dependents of the employees.
  • LTC/LFC Facility:You are eligible for Leave Fare Concession(LFC) or Leave Travel. Concession(LTC) facility provided by the bank as it will reimburse you for your trip to anywhere in the country. In case you are not interested in going on a trip, you can encash your LFC / LTC facility.
  • Interest-Free loans:As an employee of the central bank, you are eligible for interest-free loans for housing, care, education, personal consumables etc.
