Eligibility Criteria 2024

OICL Exam Age criteria

The age limit assigned for the application for OICL 2024 is given below. The applicant must have been born not earlier than 1st August 1990 and not later than 31st July 1999 (including both the dates. In case this age of the candidate doesn’t fit in this limit, he is not eligible for the application for OICL 2024.

  • Minimum Age- 21 years, as of 31st July 2020
  • Maximum Age- 30 years, as of 31st July 2020

Generalist Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university. (with 60% for unreserved category, and 55% for SC/ST)
Automobile Engineers Graduation or Post-graduation in Automobile Engineering (with 60% for unreserved category, and 55% for SC/ST)
Medical Officer Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Legal Officer Bachelors of Legislative Law (LLB degree)
Actuary Professional Graduation with 60% marks, plus cleared 4 Actuarial tests from IAI/IFOA
Accounts Masters in Commerce, or MBA in Finance, or ICWAI Exam, Cost and Management Accountant

2024 Online Application

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of Oriental Insurance Company Limited.
  • Step 2: Candidates will have to register themselves to start their application process. Click on the career option and then click on Apply Online.
  • Step 3: Choose the option stating "Click here for New Registration" and fill in your name and contact details.
  • Step 4: A registration ID and password will be created and displayed on the screen. An email and SMS will be sent to their registered email address and their mobile number.
  • Step 5: The candidates can now start filling up the application form by adding all details and they will also have the privilege to “Save” the application in case they can’t fill the application at a single go.
  • Step 6: Check the information if it is filled correctly or not and then click on the “Submit Button” after you have thoroughly checked all the details.
  • Step 7: Now proceed further to upload the photograph and signature as per the specifications given.
  • Step 8: View your uploaded images and then click on Final Submit.
  • Step 9: Proceed further to make the payment for the application form and click on the submit button.
  • Step 10: Download the e-receipt and Application form and save it for further use.

OICL Exam Descriptive Test

This section is also part of the OICL Mains Examination. This subjective part will require the candidate to write answers in essay form i.e. lengthy questions, this will help the authorities check the language application ability of the candidates. This unit is of 30 marks and is very important as it is a qualifying section. The descriptive portion of the exam will be checked only if the student obtains the qualifying marks in the Objective Section.

OICL Personal Interview

The candidates qualifying the Mains exam will be called upon for the Personal Interview round. Here the candidates will be approximately three times more than the actual positions required to be filled. The selected candidates have to reach the assigned Exam Centre at the reporting time. The interview will be given the weightage of 20% of the total final marks.
