Eligibility

A. Sports achievements

  • Sports achievements (Acquired after 01/01/2018 will only be considered)
  • First or Second place in Individual athletics events in recognized state meets and should have been selected to represent the state.
  • First Place in team events in athletics like 4x 100 relays and 4 x 400 relays in recognized state meets and should have been selected to represent the state.
  • Represented the state in the games like football, volleyball etc. and secured selection to represent in interstate, national championships [University / (Junior/ Senior) Youth National Championships]
B. Educational Qualification (Men & Women):

Pass in the HSE or Equivalent Examination: No relaxation in qualification will be allowed for any special category.

C. Age
  • Must have completed 18 years and must be below 26 years of age as of 1st January 2021.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST Communities and other backward communities are eligible for a relaxation of the upper age limit as per rules.
  • (The Maximum age can be relaxed up to 31 years for the scheduled castes/scheduled tribes and 29 years for other backward classes)
D. Physical Standards:
  • Men:
    • Height: A minimum of 168 cms.
    • Chest: A minimum of 81 cms and with a minimum expansion of 5cms.

    Note: Minimum height and chest measurement shall be 160 cms and 76 cms respectively for candidates belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities. The minimum chest expansion of 5cms shall, however, be applicable for them also

  • Women:

    Note: The minimum height will be 150cms for candidates belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities.

E. Visual Standards:

The applicants (men & women) must be certified to possess below specified vision standards without glasses

G. Physical Defects

All Candidates must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing.

Note: Physical measurement of candidates will be taken at the time of selection trials/ physical efficiency test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurement will not be admitted for the further recruitment process.

If accidents or injuries happen to candidates while participating in the physical efficiency test, he/she will not be given further chance to participate in the test.

  • 1.
    • The application form is available at the official Kerala Police website www.keralapolice.gov.in
    • The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of certificates for proving the age, educational qualification and sports performance, and certificates regarding participation in recognised national and state competitions etc shall be submitted directly or by post to the Additional Director General of Police, Armed Police Batallion, Peroorkkada, Thiruvananthapuram-695005.
    • The Cover/ Envelope containing the application shall be superscribed as “Application for Appointment Under Sports Quota (----------------------) [Please mention the sports stream]”
      Incomplete applications will be rejected without prior intimation.
    • The selection of eligible candidates will be done through selection trials, conducted by a selection committee constituted by the Government.
    • The selected candidates will be appointed as Havildars in the Armed Police Battalions subject to Government Approval.

  • 2. The candidates need to fill the online application to appear for the Kerala police exam. The application process is:

The applicants can deposit the fee online mode by paying through internet banking, debit/credit card (Rupay, visa, master card), NEFT, E-challan.
