Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM) is a corporate body of DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) having the Independent Chairman and Director as its Administrative Head. It was formally established as Personnel Assessment Centre (PEACE) in November 1995 to cater for DRTC Cadre (Technical Staff) of DRDO and is a leading centre for DRDO. CEPTAM is authorized with the Recruitment of Technical, Administrative & Allied category of non-gazetted personnel, Assessment of DRTC Officers & Staff, and facilitates Training for development of these cadres as per Training Policy of DRDO.

DRDO CEPTAM is conducted by the Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM) of DRDO. The exam is conducted once a year subject to the vacancies of that year. It is held in online mode. For getting selected, candidates have to clear Tier-I and Tier-II stages of the exam while meeting the cut off marks.

DRDO CEPTAM Exam Pattern

DRDO CEPTAM exam pattern is different for tier 1 and tier 2. The exam pattern also differs from post to post. Following is the pattern for different posts and different tiers.

MTS Recruitment -

DRDO CEPTAM MTS exam pattern is divided into two tiers i.e tier-I and tier-II. Both the tiers will be conducted through online mode. This exam is a computer-based exam and all the questions are multiple-choice questions in objective mode. There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the DRDO CEPTAM exam. The tier-I exam is the first step and it is conducted only to select candidates for tier-II. The tier-I exam consists of the questions from subjects like General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Ability. The questions in tier-ll are bases on General Science, General Math and General English. Candidates can appear for the exam in English as well as the Hindi language according to their preference and convenience. The minimum marks to qualify for tier-ll are 40% for UE/ESM/OBC and 35% for SC/ST candidates. On the basis of the candidate’s marks in tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:10 for their next exam. The final selection of candidates for this post will be done based on the tier-II exam.

DRDO CEPTAM Exam Pattern for A&A Post

The exam pattern for the DRDO CEPTAM A&A post is divided into two tiers, tier I and tier II. Tier-I is a computer-based test while tier-II is a skill-based test where your trade/skill/physical fitness and capability are examined as per the post that you have applied for. Tier-I consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The question papers are released in Hindi as well as English. Candidates will be selected for tier-II in the ratio of 1:12. The minimum qualifying marks for Tier-I is 40% for UR/OBC/EWS candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates. Following are the details regarding the exam pattern of the DRDO CEPTAM for the A&A post.

For the post of Stenographer Grade-II (English Typing), Administrative Assistant ‘A’ (English Typing), Administrative Assistant ‘A’ (Hindi Typing), Store Assistant ‘A’ (English Typing) and Store Assistant ‘A’ (Hindi Typing) you should have a thorough knowledge of Quantitative ability/aptitude, General intelligence & Reasoning ability, General Awareness, General Science, Arithmetic & Numerical Ability, along with subjects like General English or Hindi languages and the total number of questions in the section will be 150 with a time limit of 120 minutes.

For the post of Security Assistant ‘A’, Clerk (Canteen Manager Grade-III), Asstt Halwai-cum Cook, Vehicle Operator ‘A’, Fire Engine Driver ‘A’ and Fireman the subjects are same as above with an addition of job related subjects and the total number of questions for this round is also 150 with a time limit of 120 minutes.

DRDO CEPTAM Exam Pattern for Tech A

The tier-I exam is conducted in computer-based mode. The question paper is divided into two sections: A and B. In section A the questions from subjects like Quantitative Ability/Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, English Language (basic knowledge), General Science are asked. Section B focuses on questions specific to trade/discipline as per the post-code. Section A has 50 questions while there are 100 questions in Section B. 150 is the maximum score allotted for this test. The duration of the test is 120 minutes. The provisional selection is dependent on the merit of the tier-I exam according to the post, category or sub-category of the candidate. There is no negative marking in this section. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR/OBC candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates. The structure of the tier 1 exam is given below.

Section A: Quantitative Ability/Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, English Language (Basic Knowledge), General Science with 50 questions.

Section B: Specific to trade/discipline of postcode with 100 questions.

Including both the sections the test comprises of 150 marks.

Syllabus for MTS Recruitment

The syllabus of Tier-I comprises General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Ability. The syllabus of Tier-II comprises General Science, General Math, and General English.

Syllabus for A&A Recruitment

DRDO CEPTAM syllabus for A & A post is divided into Quantitative ability/aptitude, General intelligence & Reasoning ability, General Awareness, General Science, Arithmetic & Numerical Ability, General Ability, Hindi or English Language.

Syllabus for Tech “A” Recruitment

The Section A of the question paper comprises questions from Quantitative Ability/Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, English Language (basic knowledge), General Science and Section B comprises questions specific to trade/discipline as per the post-code.

DRDO CEPTAM Eligibility

It is mandatory for the candidate to be an Indian citizen between the age of 18 to 25. The upper age limit is flexible for SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC/ ESM/WIDOWS/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated from their husbands who are not remarried, Disabled Defence Services Personnel, Central Govt Civilian Employees, Persons Domiciled In J&K State during the period from 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989 as per extant Govt. of India rules.

Candidates must have passed 10th Class pass from a recognized Board. Candidates must have acquired the EQR as of the crucial date of eligibility for the posts they are applying for. Those awaiting results of the final examination as on the crucial date of eligibility for the prescribed qualification will not be eligible and hence should not apply. For Technician ‘A’ is Class 10 pass or equivalent. The eligibility for STA ‘B’ is graduation basically in the science stream.

Application process for DRDO CEPTAM

Candidates who pass the above eligibility criteria can apply for DRDO CEPTAM recruitment by filling and submitting the online application form on the official website. The form is available on the website drdo.gov.in ( https://www.drdo.gov.in/ ). Here are the steps to apply for the recruitment process:

  • Visit the official website of DRDO at drdo.gov.in
  • On the home page, select ‘Careers’ and then click on ‘Other Recruitments’
  • You will be redirected to the DRDO CEPTAM homepage.
  • Select the post, and click on ‘Online Application Form’
  • Register yourself using the required details.
  • Once registered, log in to your application using the registration number.
  • Fill in the application form, submit the fee and submit your application.

DRDO CEPTAM Admit Card

The examination committee releases the admit card of students who have applied for the exam on its official website. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter their application number, their date of birth and the post they have applied for.

Job Profile

The Candidates will be in the pay matrix level-1. They will be paid between Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900 and other benefits/allowances as per the government rules like house rent allowance, transport allowance, children education allowance, leave travel concession, medical facilities, CSD facility and other allowances.
