BPSC stands for Bihar Public Service Commission, it is responsible to conduct the Bihar Combined Competitive exams to recruit candidates for multiple posts in different offices and departments of the state. Bihar Combined Competitive Examination is conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission for appointment of various posts such as Deputy Police Superintendent, Jailer, Block Development Officer (BDO), etc., in different departments of the state government of Bihar. The 67th BPSC Notification 2021 is expected to be released soon. All the interested aspirants need to apply through the official website of the Bihar Public Service Commission. Applicants must be graduated from any discipline according to the BPSC Civil Services eligibility criteria. The maximum and minimum age limit for specific posts varies according to category.

  • 23 September 2021: The Child Development Project Officer (Preliminary) Competitive Examination 2021 has been postponed by BPSC.

The 66th BPSC Mains have been scheduled to be conducted from July 29-31, 2021. Once the exam is conducted, all the aspirants will be able to check the BPSC question papers along with the older ones.

BPSC Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for BPSC are mentioned in the official notification released by the Commission on its website. There are different bases on which the criteria are specified, they are stated below.

Educational Qualifications

To register for the BPSC 65th Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Test, a candidate must graduate from government-recognized university graduation or equivalent degree.

  • Minimum age (as on 1 August, 2020) - 20, 21, 22 years
  • General Category Male - 37 years
  • General Category Female/OBC - 40 years
  • SC/ST (Male/Female) - 42 years

HCS Application Process

The BPSC Civil Services application form will be made available soon on its official website. Eligible applicants who wish to apply can complete the application form offline as well as online. Applicants should first register on the official web portal. Candidates need to then continue to fill out the application form after a successful registration. Applicants should go through the steps below for filling out the BPSC application form.

How to Register for BPSC 2021?
  • Step: Register for the exam to apply for BPSC through the official website at bpsc.bih.nic.in.
  • Step: Register for Civil Services by clicking on the 'Online Registration' tab on the homepage.
  • Step: In the next step, click on 'Apply online'.
  • Step: Fill in all your personal, educational, and professional details.
  • Step: Click on the 'Submit' button once you have double-checked all the details.
  • Step: The username and password would be sent to the registered email address of the candidate.

  • After registration, the fee payment link would be enabled the next day.
  • Candidates would have to pay the necessary fees digitally once the link gets activated.

Important Note: Only candidates who have successfully applied to the Bihar Public Service Commission using BPSC's official website would be eligible to access the BPSC Prelims 2021 admit card.

BPSC Admit Card

The BPSC Admit Card is released on the official website for the candidates to download.

  • The exam conducting authorities will release the BPSC prelims exam admit card 15 days prior to the examination starts.
  • Candidates after successfully completing and submitting the application form can access the admit card.
  • The BPSC Civil Services admit card mentions the applicant's name, personal information, exam information, instructions on the day of the test, etc.
  • Applicants must also bear one valid proof of photo identification along with the admit card on the day of the test.
  • In the event of any inconsistency in BPSC's admit card, candidates must contact the exam conducting authorities at least one week before the examination begins.
  • The BPSC Civil Services mains examination admit card 2021 is given to candidates who qualify for the prelims exam by securing the qualification as well as the overall cut-off prescribed by the commission. They also need to fill out the mains application form within the specified time frame.

Documents Required for BPSC Civil Services 2021 Exam

Any photo ID card that has been issued by the government must be carried on the day of the examination.

BPSC Exam Pattern

BPSC Interview or Personality Test is the final selection stage of the BPSC recruitment cycle. The Commission releases the merit list after the interviews are over.

BPSC Answer Key

The BPSC releases the provisional answer keys on the official website once the exams are conducted. The key details about the BPSC answer key are given below.

  • Candidates have an option to challenge the provisional answer key released by the Commission with relevant representation.
  • To raise a challenge, candidates need to send their representations to the Combined Secretary-cum-Exam Controller along with their name, roll number, and address through post.
  • After reviewing the challenges raised by candidates against the provisional answer key, the commission will release the final answer key to the exam.
  • The BPSC Civil Services answer key for all sets of question booklets will be published online itself.
  • The answer key helps candidates in checking the correct answers to questions asked during the exam.
  • Candidates are required to determine their expected score based on the number of correct responses.

BPSC Results

BPSC 2021 Prelims

The results of the prelims exam will be announced for BPSC Civil Services after the test is completed. The result will be declared in a PDF form having the roll numbers of all qualified candidates. Applicants who qualify for the prelims exam will be selected for the mains test. BPSC's preliminary examination is of qualifying nature. The final result of the assessment by BPSC Civil Services will be announced on the basis of results in the mains test and interview.

BPSC 2021 Mains

Candidates will be selected for the personality test depending on the results of the mains exam. The final BPSC result 2021 will be declared according to the candidate's marks in the mains exam and personality examination. Allotments to the different posts would be made depending on the candidate's position in the merit list.

BPSC Selection Process

BPSC Civil Services 2021 selection procedure is based on Preliminary Test, Mains Test, and the Interview. Candidates who successfully complete the exams and the interview will get shortlisted for the BPSC 67th Civil Services Recruitment 2021.

BPSC Cutoffs

BPSC cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that students should achieve in order to qualify for the exam and be eligible for the next round of the selection procedure. BPSC will separately announce cut-offs for preliminary, mains, and the personality test. Two types of BPSC cutoff are available: qualifying and overall cutoff. In the official notice, the commission will declare the qualifying cutoff of BPSC preliminary and mains tests.

Under BPSC Recruitment 2021, the salary for various posts is INR 9,300 – INR. 34,800 + Grade Pay of INR 5400, INR 4800, and INR 4200. Do remember that depending on the commission, the salary for BPSC PT is subject to change.
