Eligibility Criteria
Assam Police recruitment considers many aspects while selecting candidates for its different posts. Extra-Curricular activities are of much importance here. Apart from that, some physical and medical fitness criteria are also there.
Nationality
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Candidates must hold a domicile of Assam.
Academic Eligibility
- Unarmed Constable: Candidate must be Intermediate passed or equivalent from a recognized Board to apply for the post.
- Armed Constable: Candidate must have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent to apply for the post.
- Sub-Inspector: Candidate must graduate or have an equivalent degree from a recognized University to apply for the post.
Assam Police Age Limit.
Candidates for the post of Constable must have a minimum age of 18 Years. Similarly, for the post of Sub-Inspector, the minimum age requirement is 20 Years. The maximum age limit for them is 25 and 24 years respectively.

Age Relaxation
Certain age relaxation is provided to some candidates like those in Home Guards, or the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD. Sportspeople also get some age relaxation. Maximum relaxation is 10 Years.

Application
Application Form for Assam Police Force recruitment is expected to be released by June 2024 for next year’s cycle. Following steps can be taken by the candidate to fill-up the form.

- Download the recruitment notification and read it properly before proceeding to the next step.
- Only eligible candidates are allowed, so check your eligibility beforehand.
- Click on the Online Application Form.
- A new screen will open up with the Application Form.
- Fill up the form with correct and accurate details.
- Upload the scanned documents as required by the form.
- Scrutinize your Application form properly before submitting it.
- If satisfied, click on the Submit button to submit the form.
- Once submitted, you’ll be redirected to the payments page.
- Pay the Application Fee, or choose the criteria if you’re eligible for exemption.

- SC/ST Candidate: No Application Fee
- Print a copy of your form and receipt for further communication.
Admit Card
Admit Card is released on the official website from where candidates can download the admit card for their use. Regarding Admit Cards, a candidate is expected to do the following.
- Download the Admit Card from the Official Website.
- Once downloaded, check for any kind of discrepancy.
- If any discrepancy is found, immediately contact the respective authority for correction.
- If satisfied with the details on the Admit Card, take its printout.
- Carry it to the examination center and present it whenever asked.
- The candidate will not be entertained at any other center except the center mentioned on his/her admit card.
Exam Pattern 2024
Written Exam for the Assam Police Recruitment is held at the last stage of the selection process. To appear for this exam, a candidate needs to pass through form scrutiny. He/she has to further appear in the physical measurement and physical fitness test before appearing for the Written Exam. This exam has the following three main features.
Objective type paper with 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 50 marks in total.
For every correct answer, 0.5 marks will be awarded to the candidate.
There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Selection Process
To get selected in various posts of Assam Police, a candidate has to make the online application first. Further rounds are based upon this round only. The process for selection is given below in proper order.
- Scrutiny of the Application Form – To check whether the candidates are eligible for the post or not. All the eligible candidates are called for further rounds.
- Physical Standard Test (PST) – The only qualification is necessary. Those who qualify are sent to the next round of the Selection Process.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 2 events are conducted here, i.e., Race and Long Jump. Merit List will be generated after the candidate’s score is based on his performance.
- Written Test – It will be an objective type paper with 100 questions on General Awareness and Current Affairs. The final Merit List is generated after that.
- Interview – It is not a necessity for every post. However, it would be advised for the candidate to be ready for any scope.
Assam Police PET (Physical Efficiency Test)
Male Candidates
- Race: 3.2 km race needs to be completed within 14 minutes.
- Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm jump needs to be done. 3 attempts will be given, and marks will be allotted as per the longest jump attempt.
Female Candidates
- Race: 1600 meters race needs to be completed within 8 minutes.
- Long Jump: Minimum of 244 cm jump needs to be done. Three attempts will be provided, and marks will be allotted on the basis of the longest jump attempt.
Medical Test Standard
- Candidates must possess high color vision.
- Varicose Vein is considered a temporary disqualification.
- The candidate must be in good mental and physical health.
- Candidates must be free from any physical deformities.
- Candidates must be free from chronic diseases like Diabetes, Respiratory Disease, Piles, Hernia, etc.
- Distance vision should be at least 6/6 for one eye, and must not be poorer than 6/9 for others without correction.
- Near Vision must be normal.
Result
Results are also declared on the official website only. It can be downloaded by entering the Hall Ticket Number. Other details may be asked. Whenever asked so, a candidate is required to provide that detail only. Regarding results, the following information must be kept in mind by the Candidates while viewing their results.

Cut Off
SLPRB announces the cut-off once the written exam is conducted. Cut-off marks are the minimum qualifying marks that are announced category-wise. Candidates scoring more than the Cut Off marks are considered for the further selection process. The cut-off details will be updated as and when it is announced by SLPRB.
