Madhyamik Education examination is going to start from tomorrow in West Bengal by WBBSE (West Bengal Board of Secondary Education). The examination will start with the first language paper on February 12, 2019. In this time all the teachers who are assigned as exam invigilator are not permitted to take their cellphones into the examination room.
This rule will ask teachers to hand over their phone to a government official aka venue-in-charge before 30 min of starting the examination. He said the move was aimed at preventing malpractices. Disciplinary action, including suspension, will be taken against those violating the rule, he said.
Students were barred from carrying mobiles in the earlier editions of the exams.
Ganguly said the centre officer in charge, centre secretary, venue supervisor, venue-in-charge and additional venue supervisor have been permitted to use cell phones.
The Madhyamik examinations will conclude on February 22.
Last year, the headmaster of a high school in Jalpaiguri district was suspended for leaking the question papers of the Madhyamik examination.
The examination will be held in only one paper each day from 11:45 am to 3:00 pm. The first fifteen minutes are strictly allotted to read the question papers. Students will be allowed to write answers from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting will be held at Kolkata and Siliguri only. The venue and date for the examination will be announced later by the board.
The examination for Sewing and Needlework will be of four hours and fifteen minutes duration.
The examination in Music Vocal and Music Instrumental will be of two hours fifteen minutes duration for the theoretical portion. The venue, date and time of the practical portion will be announced later.
