Program Overview
B.Voc Multimedia at Kalinga University is a three-year undergraduate degree programme designed to develop creative and technical skills for producing engaging digital and multimedia content.

Semester 1 builds the foundation in communication, information technology, web programming and multimedia tools.

Semester 2 focuses on photography, visual effects, presentation technologies and graphics and animation.
- Photography & Visual Effects: Camera modes, ISO, white balance, lenses, exposure, composition, lighting, photo editing, HDR photography and visual effects.
- Environmental Studies: Ecosystems, natural resources, biodiversity, environmental pollution, climate change, conservation and environmental policies.
- Presentation Technologies โ Tools & Techniques: Presentation creation, slide management, animation, video, charts, tables, slide masters, flowcharts and presentation design.
- Graphics and Animation: 2D and 3D graphics, modelling, rendering, animation principles, keyframe and path animation, character animation, storyboards, cameras and lighting.

Semester 3 develops practical skills in graphic design, audio-video equipment, publishing, printing and advanced presentations.
- Graphic Designing Techniques for Print Media: Graphic design principles, illustration, digital brushes, colour grading, vector graphics and practical work using tools such as CorelDRAW, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Basics of Audio-Video Equipment & Mobile Devices: Video cameras, sound and lighting equipment, video production stages, broadcast equipment, mobile communication and mobile hardware.
- Publishing and Printing โ Tools & Techniques: Typesetting, printing processes, colour printing, offset printing, flexography and designing brochures, flyers, posters, booklets, catalogues and magazines.
- Screen Capture and Advanced Presentations: Screen capture tools, presentation design, visual aids, advanced presentation software, interactive tools and e-learning/m-learning presentations.

Semester 4 advances students into 2D/3D animation, pre-production, production, post-production and digital video production.
- 2D and 3D Animations โ Tools & Techniques: Drawing for animation, 2D/3D drawing, modelling, texturing, shading, lighting, rendering, rigging, character design and visual effects.
- Pre-Production: Idea development, themes, stories, screenplay, dialogue, budgeting, equipment and location planning, casting, production crew and storyboarding.
- Production and Post-Production: Video editing principles, codecs, compression, transcoding, colour correction, compositing, cinematic composition, sound, editing and screenplay development.
- Digital Video Production: Moving pictures, shot selection, storyboards, shot lists and digital video production techniques.

- Media Laws and Ethics: Freedom of press, freedom of speech, defamation, copyright, intellectual property rights, privacy, cyber laws, Right to Information and media ethics.
- Graphics and Animation in Advertising: Advertising concepts, marketing and media mix, online advertising, banners, video ads, mobile ads, outdoor advertising, animated advertising and creative advertising.
- Newsroom and Online Publishing: News production, newsroom management, video and audio editing, online publishing, broadcasting, YouTube channels, Creative Commons, APIs and publishing tools.

Semester 6 brings together advanced interactive content, instructional design, 3D animation, game development and website designing.

- 3D, Scripting and Game Development: Character design, animation principles, 3D modelling, Maya, texturing, lighting, post-production, compositing, visual effects, motion graphics, game modelling, C++ techniques, DirectX 3D, networking, multiplayer gaming and game engines.
