UPTET 2026, conducted by Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), qualifies aspiring teachers for primary (Classes 1-5) and upper primary (Classes 6-8) levels across UP schools. Applications opened March 27 and close April 26, 2026, with exams on July 2, 3, and 4—plenty of time to master the syllabus.
This offline OMR-based test has two papers: Paper 1 (Primary) and Paper 2 (Upper Primary), each with 150 MCQs worth 150 marks in 2.5 hours—no negative marking. Qualifying marks: 60% general, 55% reserved. Certificate valid for 7 years; apply at upessc.up.gov.in.

Covers Piaget's stages, Vygotsky's theories, learning disabilities, inclusive education, motivation theories (Maslow, Skinner). Key: Inclusive practices for CWSN, child-centered vs teacher-centered approaches.
Grammar (sandhi, samas, alankar), comprehension, vocabulary, pedagogy of language teaching (methods, evaluation).
Choose English/Urdu/Sanskrit: Reading unseen passages, grammar (tenses, voices), principles of language acquisition.
Number system, fractions, geometry (shapes, symmetry), data handling, mensuration, pedagogy (error analysis, teaching aids). High-weightage: Arithmetic (20%), Geometry (15%).
Family, food, water, travel, solar system, pollution, pedagogy (EVS teaching methods, projects).
Identical focus on theories, comprehension, grammar.
Math: Algebra, geometry, mensuration, statistics, probability.
Science: Physics (motion, electricity), Chemistry (acids, metals), Biology (nutrition, reproduction), pedagogy.
History (ancient India, freedom struggle), Geography (earth, resources), Civics (government, diversity), Economics (poverty), pedagogy (source methods, maps).
Graduation + 50% (45% reserved) for Paper 2; 12th + 50% for Paper 1 (with D.El.Ed).
