The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination has received 2,36,656 registrations, but more than 38,000 candidates are yet to pay the examination fee. With the National Testing Agency (NTA) extending the application deadline to November 9, aspirants have more time to complete the process without a late fee.
In its November 6 update on X, the NTA said 1,98,479 candidates had paid the fee, subject to bank reconciliation. The agency has asked applicants to complete their forms, upload their photograph and signature, pay the fee and download the confirmation page before the revised deadline.
The latest figures show the following progress:
Registration submitted: 2,36,656
Images uploaded: 2,03,973
Application form submitted: 2,02,768
Examination fee paid: 1,98,479
Confirmation page downloaded: 1,95,034
Fee payment is subject to bank reconciliation.
The gap between registrations and fee payments means 38,177 candidates still need to pay online. Registration alone does not complete the application process. Candidates should download the confirmation page after submitting the form and paying the fee.
An earlier NTA update had reported 2,23,395 registrations and 1,76,616 fee payments. The latest figures show a rise in both registrations and payments.
The NTA has extended the last date for submitting the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 application form to November 9, 2026, up to 11:50 pm. Candidates can submit their applications and pay the fee by then without a late fee.
Applicants should avoid waiting until the final hours, as last-minute traffic or technical issues could delay the process. They can complete the application through the official portal: csirnet.nta.nic.in.
