Often known as the 'Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood', Google doodle commemorated the actress Madhubala birth anniversary using a vibrant doodle. The actress was born in 1933 in Delhi and was knows as Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dahlavi. Her debut appearance on the big screen was at the age of 9 with the movie 'Basant'.
She was famous for her performances in 'Mughal-e-Azam', 'Chalti Ka Naam Gadi','Mr and Mrs 55'. She had a career spanning 22 years, starring in over 70 movies. She came in 1947 into the limelight with the film' Neel Kamal', starring opposite Raj Kapoor. The actress of 'Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya' fame also captured the attention of media. When ace photographer James Burke came to India and photographed her for 'Life Magazine'. They called her the star in the film industry.
She was even offered a Hollywood role by Frank Capraher father denied. In 2013, on International Women's Day, The New York Times published obituaries of all 15"remarkable women" and among them was late actress Madhubala, whom they referred to as: "A Bollywood legend whose tragic life reflected Marilyn Monroe's." The obituary also chronicled her terrible romance with Dilip Kumar.
"They'd been eager to wed, but Madhubala's father had set conditions, including that they star in movies he'd produce. Kumar demanded she chooses between him and her father. Her loved ones were chosen by her. An ugly suit over another movie hastened their separation." Last year, Madhubala's youngest sister Madhur Brij Bhushan announced a biopic would be made on the late legendary celebrity. An official announcement for the film is to announce. Without showing any name, Bhushan said the biopic would be generated by her "dear friends".
"I am going to get a biopic on my sister, which will be generated by my very dear friends, really short. It is my humble request to each of the well-wishers of Madhubala and whosoever is correlated with Bollywood or elsewhere to please not try a biopic or anything else based on my sister's life without my permission," Bhushan had stated in a statement. She added: "The facts will soon be known for her fans and to all worried when the right time comes. So, please try to avert any sort of unpleasant circumstance."
