Established in the year 1994, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) is the sixth member of the IIT fraternity. A center of excellence for technical education, IIT Guwahati has 11 departments and 3 inter-disciplinary academic centers that cover all major engineering, science and humanities disciplines. Sprawled across a 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, IIT Guwahati has a state of the art campus with all the essential facilities of international standard that includes smart classrooms, advanced labs, hostels, etc.
