About Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar
In 2008, IIT Council had launched many IITs at different locations, amongst which is Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. It is the first to become operational among eight new IITs and it is amongst the fastest developing institutes. It is being mentored by IIT Kharagpur. It is a center of excellence to provide science and engineering education. The institute has hired faculties who are renowned in their respective fields. It offers many undergraduate level, post graduate level, Doctoral level and Research Programmes. At the time of inception, it offered courses in three disciplines viz. Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering & the total intake of students is 40 for each department. This institute offers education in those disciplines which are of both national and global concern. It aims at promoting globally competitive academic programs and ambience that support intellectual growth and skill acquisition.
