712 titles and 32 gold medals awarded by Honorable Governor at 14th Convocation of MPUT
Udaipur 24 December 2020. The quadrennial convocation ceremony of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur was held on online mode on Thursday, 24 December 2020 at 12.30 pm. He reminded that in the changing environment and education policy, agriculture education, research and dissemination should be based on the principles of innovation, motivation and illumination so that we can guide the whole society. For this we have to work hard and practice. On this occasion, the student of Rajasthan Agricultural College, Ku. Deepika Kalyan was awarded the Chancellor Medal along with 712 titles and 32 gold medals. He asked all the graduated students to contribute in the development of the state and the nation. At the beginning of the program, he also read the Constitution's Preamble and Civil Duties. On this occasion, he also released three books written by Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore and co-authors.
On this occasion, the distinguished guest, Honorable Agriculture Minister Shri Lal Chand Kataria while congratulating for the achievements of the university said that today the whole world is deeply concerned about the rising prices of food items. It is estimated that by 2050 the world food demand will double. Droughts and floods due to climate change have endangered the country's food security as well as livelihoods in rural areas. In view of these problems, it is our priority to ensure the right to food security to every person in our country and state. We are constantly trying to tackle this challenge by increasing food production. According to an estimate, in the year 2030, the country will need 345 million tonnes of food grains. Therefore, increasing the reach of every farmer to new technologies, new machines and fair market is the biggest need of the day. This is a special challenge for all of us.
Dr. Ashok Dalwai, Chief Executive Officer, National Rainfed Area Authority, New Delhi congratulated the students and said that our future is based on bio-economy. He called upon the students that in the coming century, our economy will develop on the basis of renewable goods. To face these challenges, you have to work as a good entrepreneur, educationist and scientist.
Dr. Dalwai shared the points suggested as the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for doubling farmers' income, saving on crop and animal productivity, resource utilization efficiency, increasing crop density, diversification towards high value crops and by farmers Emphasis was placed on the increase in real value received and the use of additional human labor in non-agricultural activities.

University Examination Controller Dr. Sunil Intodia told that in the 14th convocation of the university, in the year 2019-20 of the university, 589 graduates, 80 postgraduates and 43 PhDs passed in the Faculty of Agriculture, Engineering, Home Science, Dairy and Food Technology and Fisheries. Titles awarded In the convocation ceremony this year, 13 gold medals were awarded to the best students at graduation level, 13 at postgraduate level and 3 gold medals at PhD level. In addition, 1 Chancellor Gold Medal in the Faculty of Agriculture, 1 - 1 best student at the Graduate level and Post Graduate level in the Engineering Faculty will be awarded the Jain Irrigation Gold Medal. In this convocation, a total of 712 titles and 32 gold medals were awarded. This year, out of 32 students receiving gold medals, 15 were girls and 589 were undergraduate, 136 out of them.
