About Patan Multiple Campus

Patan Multiple Campus was established in 2011 B.S. (1954) before the establishment of Tribhuvan University. ‘Patan Multiple College’ in 1973 was entered as a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University named Patan Multiple Campus.

Patan Campus Offers Bachelors and Masters Degree programs such as BSc, BBS, BBA, BBM,BA, BSc CSIT, BASW, BCA, BIT, BA Home Science, BA Geography, BA Nepal Bhasa, BA Economics, MBS, MA Nepali, MA RD, MA Population Studies, MA Sociology, MA English, MSc Environmental Scicence, MA Nepal Bhasa, MIT, and MCA programs.

Patan Multiple Campus is one of TU's most prevalent constituent campuses. It covers an area of about 27,296 sq m and is located in Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur, Nepal, also known as the city of the Newar community.

History:

Patan Multiple Campus was established in 1954 AD under the Ministry of Education of Nepal, even before   Tribhuvan University was established. It was founded with the name "Patan Inter College" and was begun formally by the Crowned Prince, His Majesty Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah. The Campus was renamed Patan Multiple Campus after implementing the National Education System in 2030 BS (1973 AD).

Only in 1973 was the Patan Campus added to Tribhuvan University as a constituent campus. It occupies about 27,296 sq.m. It is well-facilitated, with sufficient classrooms and spacious premises that accommodate all the required infrastructure for the faculty. Patan Campus is the largest Campus in Nepal, with all its facilities within it, and the faculty is equipped for every program they attend.

Patan Multiple Campus is TU's only constituent Campus in Lalitpur district, the second-largest city in the valley. 

Several educationists tirelessly worked to establish the college in the Lalitpur district. They include Prof. Asharam Shakya, Prof. Mangal Raj Joshi, Mr. Kamal Mani Dixit, Mr. Indra Raj Mishra, Prof. Hem Raj Joshi, Mr. Bhairab Bahadur Pradhan, Mr. Pradhumna Lal Joshi, Mr. Raj Bahadur Chipalu, and Laxmi Prasad Rimal.

After implementing the national education system, the Patan Inter College was renamed Patan Multiple Campus on Shravan 1, 2030 BS. Since then, the Campus has been functioning as a constituent campus of the TU. By the 2055 Decentralization Act of the TU, the Campus has entered into decentralization since 2056 BS. Twenty-five students, including a girl, were at the Patan Inter College at the time of its foundation. However, as a result of the educational awareness in the people of Lalitpur, and also because of the campus administration's efforts, the Campus is successful in conducting Bachelor's and Degree-level programs in the Morning, Day, and Evening shifts in Humanities, Science, and Management. Currently, 306 teachers and 116 employees are directly involved as human resources for the smooth functioning of different-level programs.

Admission Requirements for BBA and BBM

Admission eligibility will be solely determined by the notification issued by the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University.

Written Examination

Aspiring students must participate in the written examination, CMAT (Central Management Admission Test), administered by the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. To be eligible for the interview phase, students must obtain a minimum score of 40% on the CMAT. The exam will adhere to standard testing procedures and may encompass verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and general awareness.

Interview Process

Entrance candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on their performance in the +2 or equivalent examinations and the CMAT. Successful candidates will be admitted to the campus solely based on merit. The BBA and BBM programs offer 64 admission seats (including four under a special fee waiver quota).

Eligibility

• Passed +2, PCL, Intermediate, or other equivalent level from TU or other board, institution, or university recognized by TU

• Secured at least second-division (1.6 CGPA) marks in aggregate

• Studied English as full paper carrying at least 100 marks

• Aspiring candidates must secure sufficient marks in CMAT and my interview.
