About Medical College
Max, according to the State Archive of the Tver Region, on October 19, 1920, the Tver School of Mercy Sisters was opened. On November 30, 1921, the Tver Oblast School opened, and in the fall of 1923 both educational institutions were united in the Tver Medical Technical University. In the early 30s, medical students became medical polytechnics.Before the Great Patriotic War, he was renamed the Kalinin Feldsher-Superior School.During the war, a medical polytechnic continued to train medical specialists so necessary for the front. In 1954, the educational institution was called the Medical School for forty years.And in August 1994, the school was transformed at the Tver Medical College.For almost 70 years, our educational institution did not have its own building. In 1964, it was possible to build a four -story student dormitory of a corridor type on the outskirts of the city.But the issue of placing the school itself was resolved only in 1989, when classes began on February 1 in a new six -story educational building with an assembly hall, a dining room, a sports complex, with laboratories for practical classes.Famous experts worked in our educational institution in different years. The first director was Boris Borisovich Graat, a well -known doctor, one of the organizers of the hospital, now known as the regional clinical hospital.He became the first head of the OKB. The famous doctors as Vasily Vasilievich Uspensky, who became a prototype of a surgeon in the โTale of a real personโ, Boris Polevoy (Kampov, also associated with our educational institution), Sergey Alexandrovich Kalashnikov, the founder of the physiotherapy (Kalinin) region and others.In total, over the years of existence, our educational institution has released more than 30,000 specialists.There are politicians and administrators among them, some go to other areas of activity.But the vast majority of graduates remain true to the case of medicine, the case who was taught them in our educational institution.
